Unpretentious diner serving American standards like chicken-fried steak & hash browns since 1963.

Remember Alice and Mel’s Finer? It was a bit like that. Wisecracking waitress. Good, plain good, great prices and a parade of locals and regulars. Throughly enjoyable and pretty steady stream of customers. Old school. A+

Stacy’s has been around since I was a wee lad. 30+ years ago. It’s always been the home cooking country kitchen style atmosphere where you go and just feel at home. The food is good, the tables are clean, the coffee is ready. The French toast is thick and the eggs stick to your gut. The waitresses are human beings and it just feels like the old fashioned American way of life in a restaurant. Always love coming here when I am back in the Junction City area.

While visiting the Topeka area on motorcycles, we found this place on Google maps. We love the mom and pop diners over fast food or a Cracker Barrel (support local, right?), so this was right up our alley.
Although it was around noon, we all ordered breakfast and it was perfect comfort food. I just had eggs and hash browns, my husband had a delicious vegetable omelet and our son had a really good chicken fried steak and eggs. The sausage gravy was great and the eggs were made to our liking. Our server and other employees were very friendly. Although we didn’t talk to her, I believe Mary was walking around, chatting & asking patrons how they’re doing, etc…
The special of the day was fresh catfish and it looked great.

First name basis family owned for decades place. We love it. Best brown gravy around and I get fries with my breakfast instead of hash browns. They’re crispy and the gravy has bits of meat in it. Delicious! The staff rarely changes, and neither do the patrons. Locals, Military, and those lucky enough to wander in off the interstate. The pies are all homemade by Mary, the owner. If you’re too full, get a piece to go. Love the sourdough toast option, and the french toast is delicious! Ham and cheese omelet has tons of ham! The fried chicken is very popular. I love the nostalgic table tops with adds for local businesses that were there when I was a kid, all yellowed from time. ❤️

I do not know if Stacy’s obtained a new owner or not but this is not Stacy’s food. My husband and I have always loved Stacy’s but have not been in awhile because we saw awhile back it was on the market and thought it was closed. Today I was really missing their food and my husband said they never closed so we thought to do a to-go order, my husband called and ordered the country fried steak which the lady repeated back to him chicken fried chicken he said no thank I ordered country fried steak. She told him was the same thing, is most definitely is not. Then, he orders me a club sandwich, simple turkey, ham, and bacon lunch meat. As he’s hanging up she starts talking crap to another co-worker mentioning how he doesn’t want it chicken fried is a snarky tone. My husband brings home the food and it just looks off, how you could mess up a sandwich is beyond me. I got no turkey, a think slice of ham, and bacon that was so hard and burnt I couldn’t eat it, he said his food was okay but definitely not Stacy’s country fried steak. Probably will avoid ordering to go from them again so I can see the food before I pay almost $40 for 2 meals that we didn’t eat.

I had such a great experience at this diner! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and made just the way breakfast should be. The entire team was incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. Definitely one of the best breakfast spots around. I can’t wait to come back!

This was my second time trying the restaurant. My first experience was okay, the special was a mashed potato dish with prices of steak with green beans and pudding. That special was okay, nothing to wright home about.
Today I had the Stacey’s Burger with bacon and fries. It was a good burger, it tasted good and was filling.
The food is a solid 4 stars. The reason I am giving 3 stars for this review is due to an interaction I had when paying.
The lady asked me if I wanted a copy of my receipt and I said yes. After paying she did not give me my receipt and I thought she would after my friend payed.
After he paid and got his receipt I politely asked if I could get mine and she said it would take a while. There was one other customer behind us that needed to pay. I was fine waiting.
The reason I am giving 3 stars is because the lady told me that “next time, ask for your receipt beforehand” or somthing like that. I said I did ask and she insisted I did not.
This annoyed me because there was no reason for her to say that I didnt ask and insist I was wrong.
This is why I am giving a 3 star review. It would be more accurate to give a 3.5 star review because the food was good and service was okay. This interaction just put me off the restaurant.

First time trying this place this morning. It’s a seat yourself place. Waitress was super nice, chelsey I think her name was and even though it was busy she was with us quickly. Food also came out super quick! And delicious. Sweet tea is that southern sweet I miss from home. I loved this place. Will definitely come back.

I had the beef patty melt which was ok not the best. But when it was time to pay I used my debit card which knew there would be a service charge. With the bill I included a tip and this was not explained well enough to me that they not only charge a service fee on the service but they also charge a service fee on the tip, so I paid 2 service fees for one transaction. This is the first and I have been all over the country. I will never step foot in this establishment again. The food wasn’t worth the money that was spent. The waitress was pleasant but the older woman that came to the table definitely didn’t make things better.

Was passing Junction when hunger struck my husband and I. The portions, price, and taste are hard to beat. We were so full that we didn’t get a chance to try their home made pies. If you’re ever in the area, definitely stop by because you won’t be disappointed. We will definitely be back!
