There was only 1 waitress here and it took a while to get seated. She was not friendly. When we ordered she told us they were out of the majority of the sides! We wanted mac and cheese and baked beans but they didn’t have them. Have you ever heard of a bbq restaurant without baked beans?!?! One of us wanted wings but she said they won’t be done for an hour! The special of the day is all you can eat wings so they should probably change that special! Our food took AGES to come. The brisket plate had 1 singular piece of brisket with a few fries and not a lot of coleslaw. The brisket sliders came with a good amount of food. The full sized salad was veryyyy small and had barely any chicken. The salad said it would have avocado but it didn’t!! The waitress then said they were out of it! The 213 sandwich (brisket sandwich) had a good amount of food and was good. The pulled pork plate and sandwhich we ordered came to the table a long time after everything else. The pulled pork was not pulled and was dry, very oily and just overall not good. The pulled pork sandwich had barely any meat. The side salad was pretty good and the dressing was definitely homemade. Fries were pretty good but cold. The bathroom had holes in the wall and was pretty gross. Oh my gosh and i almost forgot! My grandfathers fries had a HAIR ON THEM. He just didn’t eat them.

If i could give negative stars i would. Very very disappointing lunch and had terrible service. Do better!

Friendly staff companied a terrific bar style atmosphere. No alcohol is served here. This is a great spot for family and friends. Our dog was loved and given great care, highly recommend. Would revisit this restaurant one hundred percent.

Forks of Ivy Salad was sweet & scrumptious, Smashed French Broad Burger was flavorful and the fried mushrooms were mushroomy. I made the mistake of not asking how the pickles were cut- my mistake. Still crunchy and enjoyable. Sweet potato fries didnt need a thing on them! Waitress was distracted even though they weren’t that busy. Neither of our drinks were filled while we were there nor were we offered desert. The atmosphere is old farmhouse style. Loved the idea of the window mirror in the bathroom. Cute, quiet, tiny main st area, we walked along it after our meal. A beautiful garden and gazebo is right across the street too!

This place was excellent!
The fried mushrooms- wow!
The brisket- exquisite! We bought an extra order to take home with us (it was extremely good when reheated on the stove top)
My wife got the burger which was juicy, thick and delicious!
We also got I think the buffalo fries- which were unique and excellent!
This is a great, small town restaurant. I love the vibe and decorations and highly recommend you give it a try!

Was told this place has good burgers, so we stopped in.
Maybe it was a Perfect Storm thing?
Service- started out with no Ice. There is an Ingles store across the street, but don’t bother going to get ice. I’d hate to interrupt the 4 or 5 teenagers running the place from socializing with all their drop in friends. After 35 minutes of no food, no explanation, no drink refills, I realized that the 3 chalkboards behind the bar (not sure why there is a bar, no alcohol served here) were actually a note from the cook.
We couldn’t wait as we had an appointment elsewhere, so 40 minutes after we ordered, teeny bopper announced that our meals were fixing to be ready and were we sure we didn’t want to dine in as opposed to having to get it go?
If we didn’t have to ask for it to be boxed up to take with us, We might have got the option of condiments or even eating utensils. Tea and water to go would have been a nice touch as well.
Burned bun, dry pork, greasy almost warm fries. No ketchup. Spring mix salad was romaine, a couple of veggies and as they were together in the to go box, that must qualify as mix.
Service? Can’t judge the quality as we didn’t receive enough to quantify.
Food? Sucked.
Atmosphere? Come hang out with your teenage friends here, they aren’t too busy to Hang.
Again, Maybe just the perfect storm scenario and at all other times there is good food served faster and the wait staff is , well, anyway not going back to find out.

Words can’t describe this place. Nice little local restaurant. Very good service and the food is out of this world. Probably the best mushrooms I’ve ever had and the burger is hands down the best I’ve ever had.

Good ‘ol fashioned BBQ restaurant in a small NC mountain town. We hit this place on our way out of Mars Hill after visiting Hatley Pointe Ski Resort.
Comfortable feel, lots of tables and the place ended up being packed with customers by 1pm on Sat.
The unfortunate thing was their grill ‘wrnt out’ and we waited 55 minutes for our food!
Waited was very nice and refilled everyone’s drinks as we waited. No alcoholic beverages served this they do have a bar. I think it’s coming in the near future
Hubby had the BBQ pork sliders with Mac n cheese. 4 very generous sliders made for a hearty lunch. Tasty with a bit of a kick. Mac n cheese appeared home made and very cheesy, but lacked a bit of flavor.
I had one of the burgers which was very tasty as well as the sweet potato fries
Cute town!

This was a nice little restaurant here in this small town. Our party of 13 made reservations and the staff had our table ready right away.
They serve various burgers and loaded french fries, called “LandFills”. The brisket was really good, a tad bit greasy though. The grilled chicken was a bit overcooked, not terrible, but not very moist either. And the burgers had a little pink in the middle, no matter how well-done your requested it.
The atmosphere was nice, as was the waitress; very attentive and got us anything we needed quickly.
If they have the Key lime pie…. It is the BEST you’ll ever eat!! I would recommend checking this place out if you’re ever in the area

Take out order on 1/10/24. The brisket sandwich was awful! (Recommended by Jessica who took my order) I’m sure when properly heated/cooked it tastes amazing… Except MY brisket sandwich was definitely microwaved and then served. The meat tasted like beef jerky, cheese like plastic, and the roll was rock hard. The celery sticks accompanying the dry rubbed chicken wings looked like they were pulled from the garbage. In that condition, I’d rather the cook just leave them out. The brownie I just threw out having lost my appetite. Jessica bagged my containers, but added No napkins, utensils, and or condiments. The receipt had the audacity to charge me a Gratuity at $2.70!!! For what!?! Lol
The 1 star is for the wings. They were alright.
I had just arrived in town after a 4-hr drive. Stack House came recommended, but I certainly would not recommend… and will not come again when back in town. Absolutely terrible.

What a super find while traveling through this charming town! Sat at the bar. They don’t have spirits but have good wine and beer selection. Bartenders are friendly and fun. This place was packed during lunch and I quickly found out why. Food was amazing! Juicy burger and delicious pulled pork sandwich. Enjoyable conversation with others at the bar passing through town. Just an all around great experience – one of those unplanned nice surprises while traveling. Definitely stop in. You won’t be disappointed!
