THEY CLEANED THE PLACE UP… SIGNIFICANTLY. I was pleasantly SURPRISED. BUT… the prices are through the roof!!!!
Two shrimp platters with 2 beverages…WITH no desert cost us $75.00 with tip.
Don’t get me wrong, there was a lot of food. There were 5 breaded shrimp, two small round hushpuppies, and one side. plus an amazing salad bar.
The shrimp looked big, but then they would because they were butterflied. Not much flavor but still ok. The cocktail sauce was their savior, it was loaded with horseradish. Just the way I like it. Talk about adding flavor to the shrimp….oo- la-la…spicy!
Let’s talk salad bar: AMAZING!!!
The server will give you one plastic plate that is actually chilled. Nice!
The Bar itself was LOADED. Lettuce salad with everything you can imagine putting on it. (SEE PIC) Then, they have potato salad, pea salad, cottage cheese lots of fresh fruit, tons of toppings to put on your salad and a variety of dressings to drench it with. Crackers? Yes, a nice variety of individually wrapped crackers. THE SALAD BAR IS BY FAR THE BEST THING HAPPENENING HERE.
Back to the entree… Like I said, the shrimp was so-so, My side was dinner fries and they could have been cooked just a little longer. A little on the crunchy side in the middle. My hubby ordered the baker loaded. It was huge and just so-so. the outside has kind of a thick overcooked almost burnt like skin.
ADD CHEESE AND BACON TO YOUR SPUD AND THAT WILL SET YOU BACK AN EXTRA $3.95!!!
The drinks; tea and diet coke were great and the desserts looked AMAZING. No room for desserts.
Restrooms were nice and clean. The music was not loud enough to drown out your neighbors conversation.
On the way out I spied a couple of pinball machines that the kids might enjoy but, the machines may have been added for the nostalgia. The place is covered in old antique signs and memorabilia.
We went on a Thursday night before Valentines day. The place was not very full. They only serve the BBQ buffet on Friday night and all day Saturday for $21.95. With the prices of this place, the BBQ buffet would prolly be your best bang for the buck.

I was visiting Guthrie for the first time in several years – went to several shops and was famished! Remembered Stables from years before and they did not disappoint! The same Guthrie vibe as the best shops, great service and the perfect comfort food! My choice this time was Hilltop plate – chopped roast beef on toast & mashed potatoes covered in wonderful brown gravy. Lunch was worth the drive. Topped off the day perfectly!

Fun place with good food. The decor reminds me of old time Cracker Barrel decor except geared to the oil and gas and automotive industries. The food is delicious with usually generous portions. Although my open-face roast beef on Texas toast with mashed potatoes was a little on the small side for a $14 lunch portion. Seems a little weird to have a photo of the bar bathroom, but I found if the bathroom is clean usually the restaurant is also well kept. (The main bathroom was locked.)

I love this place. We stopped while on a road trip, but my grandma is from this town, so it is sentimental to me. I love the antiques they have in there. They have an awesome salad bar, food was delicious and the servings were HUGE. I wish I could eat there more often. Guthrie is such a cool little city.

Overall, I enjoyed the food and the decor. However, it took a long time for the waitress to bring me my tea and even longer for my dinner (Broken Wheel BBQ plate with Pork Ribs). The waitress apologized for the long wait for my food. She offered me a FREE salad bar. I asked if she would make that a FREE dessert (Chocolate cake) instead. I thought she said OK and agreed.
However, when she brought me my cake to go and I received the check, the total looked high. I asked her about it and she had charged me for the cake. Apparently, she had NOT agreed to a FREE dessert to compensate me for the long wait on my food. So, I told her I did not want it, if it was not gratis. The young lady seemed miffed.
Again, I recommend the food and atmosphere, but the waitress seemed a bit short on customer service. If the customer service had been better, I would have given a higher overall rating.

Wow! Honestly a very stellar joint if I do say so. My only qualm is that it took a considerably long time to receive our food. The place had some kewl features, such as a salad bar and a barbecue buffet! The food was a joy to my taste buds.

The food was very good, and the portions were huge, check out their sliced brisket sandwich. The only kick was that large portions come with large prices, but we were able to make another complete meal from the leftovers. That being said, it would’ve been better if portions and prices had been more reasonable.

We came about a month ago. And it’s been on our watch for awhile. The decorations of this place is very fun. There is so much to look at. Even had to check out the back room. Food was delicious. Have to get a salad from the bar. There was lots of toppings. Meals was a lot and the price isn’t bad. Only down fall was having to wait for our waitress to bring our check. Had to wait on her most the time. Never came to really check on us at all. But we will give it another chance someday.
