The dinner menu was very promising, with exciting options. The execution (we had the lamb and chicken burger) was just ok. The greens on the lamb took 3 hours to chew. The sauce was excellent. Not bad overall for Peterborough, just nothing I’d race back for. Friendly, fast service. So cold inside the restaurant we had to keep our coats on. Weirdly, coffee was excellent and the ginger cookie it came with was delightful…probably shouldn’t have been the highlight but hey.

The food here is fantastic! Great portion sizes and very reasonable prices as well. There was also a good amount of vegetarian and pescatarian options. We had a vegetable sandwich, fried brussels sprouts (highly recommend!), and chocolate spearmint crème brûlée. All the food was great. Good atmosphere and our sever was very attentive as well. Will definitely be coming back!

That has become one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always so unique compared to what you would find elsewhere. The atmosphere is also lovely and comfortable. Definitely recommend the brussel sprouts, King badouin soup, winter salad and meatballs. Their Belgian frites are also excellent and their beer menu is extensive. I do wish they would bring back the vegetarian poutine and soup dekonick though!

We came here for lunch as it was the most popular recommendation for a good restaurant in Peterborough. My wife and I had the St. Veronus Club. It was possibly the best club sandwich I’ve had. Portions were hefty, roast turkey was tender and juicy, the bread was crispy, and the salad was fresh. Service was stellar, friendly and proactive, making sure we had lots of water. Our server even read our minds and brought a takeout container for my wife without us asking. Excellent experience all around.

Came here last month when I was stopping in Peterborough overnight after a long day of travel. Had this place recommended to me so I took the trip downtown to try it out. I don’t regret it!

I came in quite late due to my travel, so the place was quite empty, but the staff was extremely friendly and didn’t cut any corners despite this. My server was very kind and walked me through the menu and helped me pick out an appetizer and meal.

The food was excellent. I loved every bite, and the portions are extremely generous. The frites here are also to die for, and I felt so bad that I wasn’t able to finish them all! Felt like a sin to waste a single morsel of food here.

Absolutely come here if you’re in town! It’s worth the trip downtown to come here.

This was our second visit to St. Veronus while visiting downtown Peterborough. It was recommended to us by our hotel and we are glad it was.

The beer selection here brings back Belgian memories with their extensive variety of Trappist Ales. We also tried the Fruli belgian beer which is perfect for any strawberry lovers.

Each time we had their dinner it was always perfectly cooked. Their steak is topped with two thick slices of butter to bring out the flavours and the flavours of the field tomatoes and basil puree with the duck breast dinner special were well-balanced. Their fries are also always served with mayonnaise for an authentic Belgian experience.

Stopped in for dinner at the Tap House. Had been recommended by others to checkout. Overall the atmosphere is good with a definite pub, laid back feel. Lots of interesting beer choices to choose from. Food was decent with one suggestion. The mussels were served in a large pot and at the beginning it was difficult to get to the broth hiding at the bottom.

My partner and I have come here a few times now, and haven’t had anything we don’t like!
The mussels are never a miss, the brussel sprouts appetizer is a decent and DELICIOUS meal for one, great sharer for two. Key lime creme brulee!? Reason enough to come back all the time. Everything was delicious, the service was courteous but not overbearing, and ambience and lighting was spot on. 100 percent recommend for a weeknight dinner, or a weekend celebration.
