The food choices were extremely sparse, and medium quality. There was fried fish with bland looking vegetables, some rice, and gumbo. My choice was fried fish and cold rice or bland vegetables. The other food area had three pans of meat, and no indication of what you could order other than a scoop of meat. The bread and rolls are sold seperatly in plastic bags as if the tiny food service rolls and bread were especially expensive. This is the most miserly, and sparse food service I’ve ever seen.
Nothing is marketed, or presented correctly, and it all looks unappetizing and confusing. I remember a time, about a decade ago, when St Tammany Hospital had the best hospital food service I’ve ever seen. Not anymore.

The staff is amazing and attentive. Every Dr. Here have been informative and have a way of making you feel comfortable like a family member. Very Happy with this hospital.

I practically eat there everyday. There menu is different everyday with some standard items. We know every Monday will have red beans and rice. Every Friday will have fried & baked fish. Breakfast is good especially if the grill is open. They are working with different food items to vary it up a bit.

We eat at the STPH cafeteria all the time, we have an office up the street. First, we love the people who work there – Barbara, Pilar, Rhonda, Annie, Evelyn and many other wonderful people whom we have gotten to know over the years. The food is really good and the prices are quite reasonable. Our visits to the hospital are usually not hospital business per se, but for anyone who is caring for a loved one in the hospital, you’re in for a rare treat in the cafeteria at STPH.

The breakfast is so good. The rest of the menu is pretty solid for hospital food. Try the red pepper gouda soup if you get a chance.

Check on the menu before you go. Breakfast is wonderful when they have omelets (grill staff). Lunch and dinner depends on the menu. Somedays it is good menu others not so much. Overall they are good.
