A buddy and I decided to pop into this newish spot on a cold January Thursday to check it out after seeing favorable mentions of it online. Plus with our spouses out of town it was a great excuse for a “boys night out” in downtown.

Things were a bit quiet (it’s January after all) but that was ok with me. We sat in a great two-person booth facing the huge bar.

The restaurant features inventive cocktails so I had my usual when places have skilled bartenders-Markers Mark whiskey sour-made perfectly.

The food menu features a lot of very reasonably priced fish and seafood dishes and some pricey steaks like a fillet for $88 (wow!). Sides are separate and they’ve got a long list of tantalizing starters too although you MUST try the amazing shrimp/avocado boats-4 crunchy little endive boats with a delicious ceviche-like mixture of tiny shrimp. Scrumptious!! And just a lite bite so you definitely have room for the fluffy grougheres with the fontina cheese dip.

We tried the hanger steak-nicely prepared and the seared halibut with a Moroccan-style sauce-very interesting. For sides we loved the potato pave(square of scalloped potatoes) and the fried eggplant with a sticky honey bbq drizzle.

Our server Dominica took excellent care of us a Carl did a nice job assisting-water glasses were always full (to me a mark of a well run place).

Alas, as with all the spots on Washington parking can be an issue. They offer valet ($15) but I luckily found a spot on the street 1-block down.

Definitely will be back soon.

If you’re craving an upscale dining experience, this spot delivers on ambiance, variety, flavor and presentation. The spot is upscale yet inviting. Great for a small or larger group.

We had two waiters and lots of helpers who stopped by the table which was a little chaotic, but we appreciated the attention and never had an empty water glass. Servers were knowledgeable, adding to the overall experience.

Our group tried a bunch of different dishes as we had 8 people. A few dishes fell short of our expectations in both flavor and value/portion, but while I am writing this review thinking about 90% of what we had on Saturday… my mouth is watering for more.

Absolute standouts:
Avocado Cream Shrimp w/Salsa Piccante & Pinenuts
Pici w/Pistachio & Ricotta
Garlic Fried Octopus
Sea Scallops w/Black Rice
Roasted Halibut in Zarzuela

Be prepared for a higher bill and choose wisely from the menu and you will really enjoy your time here.

Good service great atmosphere and drinks. We visited for our wedding anniversary dinner we were seated right away for our reservation and I ordered the lobster cutlet, it wasn’t what I was expecting and I wasn’t a fan. I loved the potato pave it had a good texture and good flavor in my opinion. I liked the roasted broccolini and my husband liked his ribeye. We utilized valet service for $15 they typically take cash and Venmo.

I would recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for something new but it wasn’t as intimate as we’d wish because it was a bit busy when we visited and we had more misses than hits when it came to the food.

Our first time here since they changed from the Snack Bar. Is a more upscale menu, emphasizing seafood and steaks. The starters and sides are all unique and sounded delicious. We shared the charred cauliflower salad, the schulfnodl (potato noodles in a spicy cream sauce), and the Barramundi (over a crusted bread with an Italian tomato sauce). Dessert was a nice carrot cake, with a light mousse topping. The staff were friendly and helpful, answering questions and open to small talk. Definitely recommend.

We came here for dinner and loved the atmosphere, food, and selections. East coast oysters, tuna tartar, NY, ribeye, potatoes pave, and glazed donut with espresso were fantastic. The place was packed but offered outward facing booths to feel part of the lively atmosphere. Would recommend.

Truly a great experience…especially as a fan of Snack Bar, I had high expectations and they were met and exceeded! My old favorites like pici were still on the menu but lots of new elevated additions! Everything was delicious and service was great. Will be back!

My wife and I spent our 10 year anniversary here. Unfortunately this fell well below expectations. Some of the dishes were good, but others lacked flavor and were very small especially for the price. The small NY strip you see was $72!!! At least the salmon dish was phenomenal. The ambiance was nice, but unfortunately it just feels like another unrememberable addition to the North Loop food scene.

As fans of Snack Bar, we were excited to revisit the updated St Pierre, a clear blend of the former Burch + Snack Bar (in a lovely way). Interior is the same cozy vibe and seats at the bar are the best. We took a shot on the new seafood platter and it was the star of the dinner — delicious char, great seasoning and hugely plentiful. Gougères were fun (fontina sauce unnecessary but playful) and we topped off with a steak and the semolina dumplings which made for a great pairing. A note: steak at medium rare was nearly rare to us (and another pair at the bar felt similarly about theirs) so we’ll be adjusting temp next time we order. Suggest really discussing steak temp with the very helpful and accommodating service team when you order. Glad this spot is up and running with a mix of old and new vibes.

New to St. Pierre. This Saturday evening was our first chance to dine here. Very lovely place. Perfect for meal with close friends. Enjoyed the cauliflower salad for starter. Schupfnudeln w/ Gorgonzola better than the best gnocchi. Hangar steak must be enjoyed every time you are here. Perfect for sharing. Will be back to this place more than once. Love the energy and the food. Save room for dessert. Best Black Forest cake ever.

A great place for a cocktail and dinner! If you liked Snack Bar or Burch, you’ll see many of the menu influences. Service was great, food was flavorful, and the space is comfortable and friendly. We’ll be back.
