If that’s the case, why wasn’t I notified by email or phone before I came in? That’s just poor customer service. I would’ve canceled the order entirely if I had known they were unavailable. And if a location isn’t sure whether they’ll even have certain menu items, those items shouldn’t be listed as available for online ordering.
It honestly seemed more like they sold out, forgot to reserve my items, and didn’t want to admit it. The staff barely apologized, didn’t offer any kind of credit, and just asked if I wanted sandwiches instead. I declined and asked for a refund.
I also specifically requested no plasticware for environmental reasons, but they still included it with my cinnamon roll.
Lastly, as someone born and raised in St. Louis, I remember when the original Bread Co. cinnamon rolls were huge, soft, and freshly made. The ones now are smaller, dry, and look prepackaged days in advance.
Panera has really gone downhill … cutting corners, offering less quality, and delivering frustrating service. I won’t be returning to this location again.
When I said “excuse me” after he abruptly demanded my money, he slammed the window in my face. I asked to speak to a manager, and he smirked and proudly announced that he was the general manager—honestly shocking considering how childish, disrespectful, and downright hostile he was acting. He even told me that if I “wanted to yell at him,” he didn’t need to help me. The irony is that he was the only one yelling.
I have never encountered someone in a leadership role behave so arrogantly and aggressively. This man does not represent customer service—he represents exactly why people avoid places with terrible management. Absolutely unacceptable and I will not be returning.
I canceled and ordered rapid pick up instead and my food was done exactly the way I ordered it and done in less than 8 minutes.
I do like that this location does have a fire place as well. I wish I could give this a 4.5 because the ordering issue at the counter was only worth loosing 1/2 star compared to the rest of the service and ambience.
Another thing I noticed was I got a few people staring at me as though I was a strange face. Other than those two things it was a good experience.
