The food was incredible! The inside is beautiful, they really did such an incredible job. We sat at the bar that overlooks the kitchen which is immaculate. You can see how fresh all of the ingredients really are! Highly recommend stopping if you’re in the area. Tons of cute little shops close by as well.

I was in town for the day and asked Google Maps for restaurants that had the highest reviews in that area. I liked the pictures I saw and so I went there. It was in between lunch and dinner and the relay was only a few other people in the restaurant. To be honest, I almost didn’t go in because from the outside it looked like it was closed because it didn’t look like the lights were on inside. I’m super glad I went! Because not only did I eat there by myself the first day, the next week when I was in town again, my husband and I came in because the food was so good! I had really good service the first time but it was probably because it was me and one other person in the restaurant. The second time I went it was much busier and we definitely didn’t have as great of service. But the food made up for it! There is so much on the menu I still want to try. I love how they serve breakfast all the way till 4:00 p.m. The server said they’re mostly known for brunch, but their lunch and dinner menu is a superb. Two restaurants can open up. It’s also in a great location in Valley Junction. I will definitely go again and I highly recommend!!

While this wasn’t my favorite location they did close down the downtown one so this is next best. I do enjoy dinner here but breakfast is my favorite, their mushroom toast with a poached egg! For awhile they did replace it with smashed pea toast and I actually enjoyed this as well.

Words cannot describe how amazing this place is. Every chance I get I dine here!! I celebrate important life events here and have been going for a few years now-it is absolutely incredible every time. I cannot recommend this place enough. Had a lovely experience at St. Kilda in Valley Junction 2 weeks ago. The coffee, which is always good in my opinion, was delicious! But then I stayed for a cocktail and salad. I sat up at the bar and got some work done, chatted with the baristas and bartenders that checked in on me regularly, and left feeling full and happy. I’ll definitely be back!

I took my parents and significant other here yesterday for brunch and it was outstanding! The staff was great, the food was amazing, and the venue very chic! It was really fun when I looked at my photos only to see our waiter (do not know his name but he’s awesome!) had not only taken pictures of us, but also of himself! LOL! I definitely recommend this venue and will definitely go back!

We came to eat here last minute and we were very happy we came. As soon as we walked in the music invited us in. It’s definitely a vibe. The service was great and the owner was very accommodating (brought me out a personal order of French toast)! The cost was very reasonable!! The orders came out quickly and cook. Absolutely fantastic (but spendy) lunch spot! I had the Cubano and my wife selected their breakfast tacos. When we dine out, we generally pick dishes we both want to try and swap in the middle. This leads to an inevitable conversation about who “won” the meal.

It was a tie!
The cubano was everything I was hoping it would be. The pork was tender, juicy and flavorful. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Vegetables were fresh, cheese was melty and it was a great sandwich.
The breakfast tacos were even more of an explosion of flavor. She ate two and I consumed #3. It was possibly one of the best breakfast tacos ever – everything was fresh and all of the flavors were bright. Truly more flavor than one hand deserves to hold.

I recently asked my partner, “If you wanted to take someone from out of town to just one Des Moines restaurant for breakfast, one for lunch, and one for dinner, which would you pick?” I won’t spoil her answers, but when she turned the question around on me, St Kilda was my pick for lunch, no hesitation.
I adore St Kilda. Clean tasting, good and healthy food, unique menu, upscale and modern vibes without feeling overpriced. I will admit I’m sad they don’t offer the Eggs Benedict anymore, but I have enjoyed every item I’ve ever gotten, and really enjoy the Australian Iced Coffee (even as someone who usually hates coffee).
Definitely make a stop and check it out!

My friends and I ate here for brunch on a Saturday morning and sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen and watching the chefs cook was nothing short of awesome! And the food that came matched the awesomeness! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to grab some food and /or yummy drinks (Biscoff espresso martini for the win) before heading out for some shopping in the historic valley junction!
