I stopped by this brewery while it was fairly quiet, but I enjoyed my time there. The staff seemed professional, and the bar was pleasant to sit at. The beers were good, and of mostly traditional styles. It’s quite a nice place to while away some time. The reuse of the church makes for a very scenic setting. It’s definitely a good place to meet up with friends, and I’d visit again if I’m in Indianapolis again.

I was honestly a tad disappointed after seeing all of the reviews. We tried to call in a reservation the day prior 10+ person group, and no one picked up the phone. It was no issue as there was plenty of room the day of.
The service was poor from the server. I felt like a transaction rather than a guest/potential reoccurring customer.
The beer was delicious, and I would highly recommend a flight! Additionally, the aesthetics of the former church are unmatched.
Lastly, the food simply okay and a few of the people in my group said the Caesar wrap had an odd taste.
Would I come here to have a drink? Sure thing! But I probably wouldn’t return for a meal.

food is not bad but might need to pay more attention on the hygiene side; service is good; atmosphere is pretty nice in a church-like environment with lots of brewing tanks

The food and beer here is wonderful. The waitress brought me a few beers to taste so that I knew what I wanted to order. Staff were friendly and attentive. Great place for a date night. The environment is a little loud but not a bad vibe to drink some beer.

What a great way to use a no longer in use church! There’s a lot of brewing history with the Catholic Church. The space still feels very Catholic to me, which makes for a unique Brewery experience. The beer and food both were very good. When this far north, I went with the poutine. Even the half portion was too much for me to finish, so still a very generous portion size. There were a lot of beer options. The man who took care of us answered all lot of our questions, which was greatly appreciated. I know this isn’t the only brewery in a previous Catholic Church, but it’s still something relatively unique to check out. Highly recommend.

We stopped at this brewery on our way from Oklahoma to Michigan and it did not disappoint! We arrived at 2pm on a Tuesday and it was mostly empty. We were greeted immediately and seated by a manager or brewer. There was one server and one bartender working. Both were great! The bartender was able to make me a cocktail off menu and my husband was happy with his IPA. The server did a great job of checking on us and even refilling sodas for the kids without being asked. The food arrived quickly and it was all beautiful and fresh! We had no problem finding parking on the street and no trouble with traffic. Overall a great experience!
My only notes:
The chicken on the sw BBQ salad was pretossed in the BBQ sauce so overall pretty sweet. I also found there to be a lot of pico (which is a me problem- I expected it to be a topping that I could avoid but it was incorporated in the salad).

Food was 10/10 everything was cooked to perfection. Service was fast & friendly. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza (not pictured) and not on the menu. It was also very delicious.

If you have not visited you are missing a cultural spectacle. Amazing menu, Adam has developed a menu that is unmatched around casual brew fare.
Prices so reasonable it shocks! Beer selection, that never disappoints.
They also have an associated event venue that considers all contingencies.

Excellent vibe, delicious fresh beer at one of my favorite breweries in downtown Indy. I love St Joseph’s vibe and setting. Good outdoor seating options when the weather is nice, cool indoor seating in the church when the weather is less than ideal. Nice staff and great beer and food options. Highly recommend the beef poutine for a starter and lamb burgers if you love flavor. Will return!!

For my second stop on the Indianapolis brewery exploration, I visited St. Joseph Brewery, a beautifully repurposed church that makes for a truly one-of-a-kind setting.
I tried their Devastator DIPA, a bold, hop-forward beer with great balance and flavor. Excellent beer, welcoming atmosphere, and definitely a spot worth checking out if you’re exploring breweries around Indy.
