I’ve been a huge St. Honre’s fan for well over a decade. The best French bakery and cafe around, IMO. However, it has really gone downhill the last couple of years. There is almost always a very long line at this location, even on a mid-week morning, and seems mostly due to the fact that there is almost always only one person at the register even though there seem to be a lot of people behind the counter standing around. Yesterday I met a friend for lunch and even though we were dining-in we were given paper cups and plates and plastic forks. So was everyone else seated in the cafe. This is not the first time. This used to be my go-to place and the food remains wonderful and the staff friendly but it’s just not the experience is used to be at all.

I would recommend just sticking with the pastries and coffee which is excellent. The breakfast panini left much to be desired. Unfortunately they didn’t get my order correct and rather than fixing it, they simply cooked the mushrooms and gave them to me on a separate plate which I felt was a little weird when I had ordered them on my sandwich and I told them right away that it was incorrect.

Wifi isn’t working and the $6 cold brew tastes like it was filtered through dirty pennies. Table almost fell over when I put my stuff on it to sit down. Really disappointing for a first visit. Staff was nice. Hope it is better the next time.

I usually love St Honoré and have had great experiences there. However, the customer service was lacking. It was fairly busy, but it took a while for the workers to tend to the registers. We ordered 4 items, but only the iced coffee was delivered. After waiting for over 20 minutes for the rest of our food, we went up and asked if it was almost ready. They had lost our order. They made sure to make the rest of our food, but what I’m the most surprised about is that they never apologized. We received our food fairly quickly after that. The quiches were good as usual, but the salad was unappealing, as a lot of the lettuce was wilting. I didn’t bother trying to dig through the bad ones to get to the more appetizing leaves. It’s hard to enjoy good food when the service is unprofessional.

I love bread. I would say I’m made up of 50% bread, 25% sugar and 25% of whatever else humans are made up of. Their bread and pastries are delicious. Often times there is a line to get food and its obvious why. The staff is always friendly and ya just can’t go wrong with anything on their menu.

I’m not seeing my review from about 4 hours ago and that’s very odd. So I’m posting it again. I was really frustrated with the lack or urgency that the staff had today. 4 or so people in the back too. Only one girl ringing at register and a very long line of people. She was slow and overly chatty and molasses friendly when 12 people are in a line to spend money and order food. They need to be taught that friendly is excellent but move it along with that friendly smile. Took 20 minutes for me to get a Sandwich that was ready to go in the case. For that reason I’m frustrated. Please chat w the staff and let them know that no one loves slow lines esp when you’re hungry. End note the sandwich was good when I finally got it 🙂
