This has quickly become a weekly stop for me. I do outside sales so I’m always on the go and St. Hilaire never fails to deliver tasty bites in a hurry. For $8 you get a decent plate of fried wings and banan, with a side of pilkliz of course.. hard to beat! Patties are good too especially if you just need a quick snack!

I used to order food from this restaurant, but last Sunday, using the DoorDash app, I didn’t have time to cook at home and I was almost late for work. I went to the restaurant’s website, placed an order, and they confirmed the order, telling me I could pick it up in 22-34 minutes. When it was time to pick up the order, I went to the restaurant, spoke to the attendant, and showed her the order confirmation, but she said they hadn’t received the order. I told them that if they hadn’t confirmed the order, I wouldn’t have received a message from my bank saying I had spent money at the restaurant. I didn’t argue with them further. When I mentioned this to a colleague, she told me that this restaurant had done the same thing to her, but unlike me, they refunded her money. I didn’t receive my money back, nor did I receive my order. I just ask them to resolve this problem as quickly as possible because a person shouldn’t have to pay for something and receive nothing in return.

This was my third time getting food from here. Every time I am in the North Miami area, this is my go-to spot for some Fritay. The restaurant is small offers only take away, but when I tell you the food is good; the food is good.

This place looks like a deli or butcher shop. They have a menu on the wall and a hot case. You can see whats cooking. If you dont speak creole don’t worry, they are very helpful and patient. The food is AMAZING! Fresh. Filling. Get there for lunch!!

During a recent stay at the Marriott Turnpike in Miami before a cruise, I made it a mission to find some good Haitian food. The search turned into a bit of an adventure! After a 45-minute drive north to North Miami, and a slight detour after finding out another restaurant was still cooking their rice, I finally stumbled upon St. Hilaire Family Restaurant.
And let me tell you, it was worth the trip – and my wife, who absolutely loves and knows how to cook Haitian food, agreed! We both loved the perfectly seasoned goat and fried pork. The flavors were spot on, truly reminiscent of home-cooked meals. The meat was tender and juicy. We also enjoyed the rice and beans.
The only minor issue was that the portion of sauce for the rice was a bit small, and unfortunately, most of it spilled in the bag. However, this was a small hiccup compared to the overall quality of the food.
I would highly recommend St. Hilaire Family Restaurant to anyone craving a genuine taste of Haitian cuisine. It definitely satisfied my longing for those familiar flavors, and my wife was equally impressed. We will absolutely be returning the next time we are in the Miami area for our next cruise.

GREAT bouillon on Saturdays!!
Update as of Feb/March 2025: Had horrible bouillon!! – no taste at all. Tasted like boiled water- depends on who make it I guess! I only get Bouillon -Nothing else so no feedback on the other food menu items. my rating is based on the Bouillon only!!!!!!!!! I wish they can tell you if its GOAT OR BEEF Bouillon – or at least put a big sign on the display window in front of the soup so you can tell!
