We chose this restaurant while visiting the area because of its chef and great downtown location, and while there were some highlights like the excellent service, the experience was disappointing.

The best part of the evening was our service. Emma and Rachel were attentive, efficient, and genuinely friendly. The ambiance was also lovely. The lighting was dimmed, the noise level wasn’t loud at all, and the space was beautifully decorated.

We ordered the pork dish, which was tasty, though the portion was unexpectedly small, roughly three ounces, while the risotto portion was disproportionately large.

Our first major disappointment was the blue mesa tamale. Unfortunately, it was not visually appealing and consisted almost entirely of masa with very little filling. We returned the dish, and the manager was kind enough to remove it from our bill, which we appreciated.

Dessert was another letdown. While the crème brûlée was beautifully presented, the texture was gelatinous rather than creamy, as if it were made with Jell-O instead of cream. The berry topping, however, was enjoyable.

We were surprised that a restaurant that had such good rating given our experience; but, we chalk it up to just a bad night.

We dined here with another couple at the Valentine’s dinner and were very disappointed. The menu looked promising, but the kitchen did not deliver. I realized we were in trouble when the first course, a small [not very warm] brie with cracker, was not served until 45 minutes after seated (reservation time). While service was friendly and apologetic, the kitchen was remarkably slow. This was a limited menu, with 2 options for each course. Most of the meal was cold and not well prepared, which was very surprising when a starter was a bisque. 90 minutes into the meal and show to get to across the street and we had to get the dessert to go. Unfortunately, creme brulee is not a very good “carry out.” I note this because St. Cruz does market itself as a great venue, if attending a show downtown. That was not our experience. Considering the relatively high price for the meal, we were very disappointed with the delivery. One can hope this was highly unusual.

We have been attending quite a few shows at the Fox Theater across the street. This is a great place to stop in for a bite and a cocktail before the show! Sergio and Kelsi at the bar are very personable and make great drinks. The halibut tacos are YUMMY!

This place had some of the best food in Tucson. Usually restaurants in hotels aren’t that good, this place was great! The steak was delicious, salmon excellent. Good cocktails, great wine list, super service. Easy parking on site (free if you eat in the restaurant). Was a great surprise finding this place.

Dining at St. Cruz was an absolute pleasure, thanks to their phenomenal staff, whose hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable. Our server was wonderful, ensuring we had everything we needed while serving us tasty meals with warmth and attentiveness.

The atmosphere at St. Cruz was just as impressive as the food—a perfect blend of New York sophistication with a touch of Western charm, creating a stylish yet inviting setting that made the experience even more memorable.

The menu offered some delightful surprises, starting with their salmon in chorizo broth sautéed veggies brings—a unique twist that added depth and richness to the dish. Their tenderloin with grilled mushrooms was perfectly cooked, complemented by a flavorful pan sauce that tied everything together beautifully. But the real unexpected standout? Their esquites fries—a creative and delicious combination of crispy French fries with corn, crema, and just the right balance of flavors. It was a surprising yet perfect pairing.

To round out the meal, our coffees were just as enjoyable, adding a perfect finishing touch to an already fantastic dining experience. With excellent service, a well-crafted menu, and an atmosphere that blends urban elegance with rustic charm, St. Cruz is definitely a spot worth visiting.

We started with a “bartender special” cocktail, a glass of wine, and two halibut street tacos. Really stellar. He ordered the filet mignon and I ordered the airline chicken. The chicken was dry and tough (but tasty). They made me another one and the second version was perfect. I would have appreciated a comped entree or even an extra drink given how disappointing it was, and how long it took for the replacement.

I sat at the bar to have cocktails and a small bite before going to a ballet performance at the Music Hall (very convenient short walk away). Sergio greeted me in a very welcoming fashion and is excellent at keeping everything running smoothly while also making all the patrons feel comfortable and well attended to and Arrianna made the best chocolate martini for me that I have ever had❣️ Wonderful experience and I will definitely be returning.

I so very much want to give this place a five star review, but I just can’t: the kitchen is far too slow to justify it. I’ve had dinner here for three nights of my stay, and in each case the delivery of our orders was painfully slow despite the restaurant being far from full. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and the quality of the food is very good (though the presentation is inconsistent in ways that detracts from the experience), but waiting a full thirty minutes for each course to come out makes it harder to unconditionally recommend. I hope the hotel can address these issues because it would really make the place a destination.

We chose to come here because we were looking for something quick and easy. It was easy since we were in the hotel but not particularly quick. The restaurant was not at all crowded but both service and food were slow. It’s almost as if they weren’t really expecting to have patrons. The salmon was good; the Brussels sprouts were decent but the ahi poke was much too sweet for my taste.

Stayed for a night at the hotel & was hungry. The ladies behind the bar were polite and courteous. The drink, Bright Idea, with normal vodka (not habanero vodka as called for by the menu) was great. The spork belly Taco was really good, chicken taco was delicious and meat was nice and juicy and steak taco was sumptuous.
