The place is very interesting! Very loud but tolerable. It’s fun when they bring a cake with candles for their customers birthday and loud music plays along. It was a very interesting scenery. The food was also good. Depending on which you select (either premium or supreme), both have good selection of meats. Overall, the experience was good.

Food was excellent. Even just the basic supreme you could get your moneys worth. There is a good variety of choices on the first menu. Service was quick and we got our food very fast. The servers quickly brought our food, cleared our trays and replaced our grill in a timely manner. They were on top of it! I love how easy it is to order off the tablet. Don’t have to flag down a waiter to order more. Great place for a birthday too as they give you a fake cake with a sparkler and play happy birthday music on the speakers. What a time !

I love BBQ, but I’m not a big fan of most BBQ restaurants because of the oily air and the smell that clings to your clothes. This new restaurant, however, has excellent grill-side ventilation that keeps the smoke from rising above the table. Every dish was as good as those in Gangnam, but the quality of the meats here was even better. Don’t miss out on trying the cold noodles! I’m so glad we finally have a quality Korean restaurant in town.

Oh, I’m so happy! A high quality Korean BBQ place just opened up, and I was blown away when I visited today. It’s actually their first day open, and the meat quality and flavors are incredible. You can definitely tell there’s a chef in the kitchen who knows traditional Korean flavors. I’m already planning to come back with friends next week. Thank you for bringing us real, authentic Korean BBQ that truly tastes like it’s straight from Korea-not like the usual, watered-down versions!

If you’re near the Livermore outlet and craving Korean BBQ, Ssam KBBQ is just a 10-minute drive west — and it’s worth it!

The interior is bright, spacious, and clean. Tons of menu options and prices are very fair for KBBQ! I usually go for the $36 Premium, but if you’re feeling extra hungry, the $42 Supreme has even more options to splurge on.

I also love their side dishes — everything is flavorful and fresh.
Ordering is easy and straightforward, and the staff are super attentive, constantly checking in and changing the grill quickly.

Just a heads up:
‣ Lettuce is $1 per plate
‣ No free drinks, but! If you follow them and post a story, you can get a free soda

Overall, this is a solid and satisfying KBBQ stop, especially when you’re around Livermore!

11.26.25 5:30pm 3.5 stars really. Mom & Dad had dinner with my brother’s family, a day before Thanksgiving. I found the restaurant and suggested they dine here. I didn’t know it was an AYCE restaurant. Order via menu off QR Code. Both staff & other patrons were non-Koreans.

Parents said galbi (갈비) was tasty, but very fatty, totally over marbled with fat throughout (mom graduated with a BA in Food & Nutrition so is particular about fat content, etc.), and was served precooked instead of grilled at the table like the other meat. Other protein selections were also tasty, service was excellent, restaurant was packed and looked nice. However, it still didn’t taste like the BBQ we get in South Korea, NY, or LA, but it’s loads better than inedible Gen Korean BBQ.

We can’t believe for delicious authentic galbi one would have to pay $90+/single LA galbi portion at Chungdam. For top quality premium Korean Hanwoo galbi at a restaurant in Seoul coversion to USD currently it’s $40-$50/serving. I don’t know if prices or quality have changed since last we dined at Chungdam several years ago. We’ll have to try the highly rated 10 Butchers in Sunnyvale which offer Japanese Wagyu.

*For Wagyu, unless it’s Japanese Wagyu, don’t bother with US, Canadian or Australian, all taste like regular good quality beef but none taste anything like Japanese Wagyu, which the marbling is very uniform throughout and the meat tastes almost sweet, juicy and melts in your mouth.

A great Korean barbecue spot, they use the iPad/robot tech to serve customers. It is an amazing and easy way to order more food and in all you can eat barbecue place. The food they offer is great and you can upgrade your selection of all you can eat food Too a more variety of dishes. They are accommodating to, we had a birthday party here and they served a cake and lit a firework for candles, overall an amazing establishment with great service.

My recent visit to SSAm was a mixed bag. It had its moments of promise, but several key aspects held it back from being a truly enjoyable Korean BBQ experience. Meat Variety and Freshness: The menu featured a good selection of meats, from well-marbled brisket to tender pork belly. The marinated short ribs were especially good, with a rich, savory flavor that stood out. However, we ordered two premium meals and only one serving each served. Banchan Selection: The variety of side dishes were disappointing and the portion was the smallest I have ever had, but the kimchi was perfectly fermented, The steamed egg and tofu soup were comforting touch. Grill Maintenance: The staff was quick to replace the grills when they became too smoky, ensuring a clean cooking surface. This is always a big plus at Korean BBQ..Service: While the staff was new they seemed overwhelmed. My husband ordered a beer and they served the beer without removing the cap and we had to wait for a bit. I ordered hot tea and it never came. and there were extended waits to get more meat or refill side. Ambiance: The dining room was open and the chandeliers were a very pleasant touch. Portion Sizes: For the price, the portions of meat felt small, especially for premium cuts. We ordered two premium portions and only one portion was served each time. Marinades and Flavor Balance: typical Korean BBQ marinades. Nothing special! SSAM isn’t a bad spot for Korean BBQ, but it doesn’t quite rise above the competition. While the meat quality and banchan were satisfactory, the prices didn’t make it feel like a good value for the money. I might return if I’m in the area and craving BBQ, but it wouldn’t be my first choice. With so many options for Korean BBQ, I’d suggest exploring other spots that provide a better balance of service, quality, and value.

I genuinely don’t understand how this place has so many good reviews. This was hands down the nastiest, most unseasoned Korean BBQ I’ve ever had.

To start, our table and seats were dirty when we were seated. Service was terrible, we had to keep going back to the staff because they forgot half of our order. For a Korean BBQ spot, that’s unacceptable.

They claim their meats are marinated, but that’s just not true. The only meat that had any flavor was the bulgogi. Everything else was completely unseasoned. I’ve never in my life gone to Korean BBQ and left half the meat untouched, but this was the first time. I almost threw up.

And the cheese corn? What was that? Just plain cheese and corn on the tiniest plate missing the most important ingredient: Korean mayo. Embarrassing.

I’m honestly offended that this place considers themselves “Korean BBQ” most unauthentic Korean barbecue restaurant I’ve ever been to.

Service: 1/5
Taste: 1/5
Cleanliness: 3/5

This is a place to dine with friends, not with families. Super loud music, can’t even talk without yelling over smoke. That might be the vibe they’re going for, that’s fine but not for families to any extent. Also, we were a party of 6 parents, 4 babies, we had to sit separately, they lack tables that sit more than 5-6 people. We’ve had better experiences at other k-bbq places. Not a bad place, just not the right place for families.

I forgot to add, the floors are extremely oily. Watch out, don’t slip. Expect your chair to slide away while you eat.
