One of the best thosai is served here. Crispy at edges and soft in the middle. Perfect with it’s thick & tasty dhall. It’s coconut chutney is thick unlike other places which was too diluted. Go for it’s chicken perathal and fried cauliflower too! There are many other choices too such as it’s fried spicy BeeHoon, Uppuma, etc.

The flavors of the dosai, vadill (i hope i got the name correct), was fantastic. Once you enter, sit yourself and a waiter will come get your order. They serve food within 10 mins which is super fast!

While there isnt air conditioning, it can get quite stuffy inside. Also, hopefully they can improve the toilet situation just a little bit. Other than that, food is good and pricing is reasonable!

30/8/25- very pricey and staff do not provide as you ordered. I ordered thosai without oil but the cashier did not inform the cook. I have to repeat few times to get thosai without oil. For kids ordered non spicy fried rice and got very spicy fried rice. Once we are back to hotel then only we noticed the fried rice was a mess. So we gave thosai for our kids and we have had coffee for the day.

From observation
chicken gravy -cost 7.50 with 3 tiny pieces of chicken with lots of gravy
fried chicken -cost rm10.
very pricey.. not recommmend

plz walk to any road shops to get better reasonable and worth food.

the contact number in the receipt is not in service

The restaurant was not satisfying at all. I went on vacation with my friends, and since we were very hungry, we went to the nearest restaurant that served Indian food. The way the waiter treated the elderly couple sitting at the table in front of us was very inappropriate. The couple only asked why nobody had taken their order yet, but instead of responding politely, the waiter raised his voice at them. As they were new customers, the waiter should have explained the situation politely, but his attitude was extremely rude.

The food was also disappointing—expensive and lacking in taste. For below-average food, the price was not worth it. For example, rice with rasam and fish fry cost RM 13.50, yet the portion of rice was very small. They also charged an additional RM 3.50, claiming it was “standard.” Only after we had chosen our rice and dishes did they tell us the prices. Another dish—rice with three vegetables and chicken 65—was RM 20.50. The chicken 65 tasted like ordinary fried chicken, completely bland and tasteless. The chicken 65 portion was so little, I didn’t order one plate of chicken 65 it was 3 pieces of chicken 65. The papadam was like tissue paper.

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The quality of the food, the lack of proper flavor, and the poor customer service make it completely not worth the price.

The food quality was worst, price getting quite unreasonable. My wife had a naan tandoori, the chicken were overly-grilled. No tandoori taste at all and the chicken’s portion was very small compared other restaurants at Penang. Meanwhile my rice meal also not delicious at all..
However, the service was okay..
Our food experience was completely zero..

I went to Sri Ananda Bahwan with high expectations, but honestly it was very disappointing, especially for the price I paid. I ordered naan with chicken — the naan was dry, and the chicken had almost no masala or flavor. It really didn’t taste good at all.

Waiting time was fine, but the service was not consistent and some staff were not very friendly. The only thing I liked was the mushroom soup, but it’s not always available.

Overall, I felt like I paid a lot but didn’t get the quality I expected. Hopefully they improve the food and service.
