I really, really wanted to like this place. But I’m sorry, I just can’t do it.
The Squealing Pig ought to be great: Good name, charming logo, wonderful rustic decor. The staff is friendly and attentive.
But that’s as good as it gets.
The kitchen is really slow; be prepared for a long wait.
The barbecue, I am sorry to say, is awful. The issue is the sauce: It’s super syrupy sweet. You could put it on pancakes. And that’s the only choice.
if you like barbecue pork that tastes like candy then this is your place.
I did suggest that perhaps they could offer some options, such as an Eastern sauce or a Western sauce, maybe even a SC style mustard sauce – anything other than that horrid Type 2 diabetes sauce. I was told the owner is very proud of his sauce and that’s all he will allow them to serve.
Sorry to say, hate to do it – I do not recommend The Squealing Pig.

The food and service are wonderful! Beef brisket and pork bbq are cooked pefectly and properly. Two types of slaws taste great and compliment the meat you get. I will definitely be back!
