I went here for their December 31 event. I ordered three hot chocolates that were cold when I asked the server for the candy cane and coco sprinkle that were advertised on the menu, he then tells me that, “Aww, we ran out a while ago and couldn’t get anymore for the rest of the day. It’s still good though.” I paid $5 plus tax and whatever fee he added on because my drinks ended up being $19.44 and I gave him a dollar tip. I was pissed. I wish I had told him to give me my money back instead of rolling my eye tabs telling him, “That’s not what I paid for.” I’m still peeved about it.

Food was surprisingly delicious. We were hesitant from other reviews, but they have the best waffle fries we’d ever had! Ask for extra crispy, they’re happy to adjust for you. Customer service was easily 5-stars too. Chris was behind the reg and was a great face to represent the SquareBurger. Nelson was cooking that night and did an amazing job. We finished our fries and Pumpkin Spice Milkshake then went back for another bucket of fries! We’ll be back for sure. (If you go now for the “Franklin Square Holiday Festival”, you can eat and drink by one of many fire pits and enjoy a ligth show every 30 minutes)

Square Burger is located in Franklin Square Park. It serves burgers, chicken fingers, hotdogs, milkshakes and other goodies. It is the self proclaimed home of the Cake Shake… so of course since we had just ate prior to go to the park it was the natural thing to try. At $5 it wasn’t too expensive and it was tasty. The cake adds a different texture and flavor profile to a normal chocolate or vanilla shake. It wasn’t as thick as I thought it would be and it was very sweet. There is no seating but there are chairs and benches scattered around the park.

Was really unfortunate that although they say they are open until 9 PM, they were closed by 8:40 PM. Workers closed windows and no longer accepting orders, best to change hours of operations!

I went to see the Chinese Lantern festival for the first time and was so excited to be there! I also wanted to support local food vendors. The wait time on the line was outrageous, the food was just okay, the staff didn’t really understand English well and it was challenging to communicate with them. However, the WORST of this experience was somehow my credit card was charged THREE times hours later despite the fact that I ordered food one time. I’m unclear how that was possible unless someone saved my credit card information. Do NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! I’m am currently fighting the charges with my bank.

Food was surprisingly delicious considering the small stand they have. The churros we ordered were made fresh, one of the best we had. Ice cream sundae was good and the fries too.

I have been here twice in the past two months. Their food is awesome. Not a huge selection but what they do offer is excellent. I can truly say the best burgers I have ever had. The chicken tenders and fries also taste amazing. If you are in the area I do recommend.

Service was okay, and the food and drinks were fine. But I have to say; I went here (to the park) on a field trip for a good 6 hours once, and this park is where I made lasting memories, and a really tight friendship with a group of people. Would 10/10 recommend for a school trip!!

Walking through Philly with my friend and I noticed that we were passing “Franklin Square Park” so I told him to stop because I heard of this spot from yelp and I had to expierence it. As I approach the kiosk I see the staff cleaning up, looking like they were ready to go home. I look at my watch and notice that it’s 5:56 and they close at 6. So instead of being “That Customer” I asked them when they would be re-opening, to which they told me, “It’s not problem man go ahead and order something if you want it you still have time.” Now THAT’S customer service! I was impressed because I know if I was in their shoes I probably wouldn’t have been so nice.
I noticed that their milkshake of the month was “Blueberry cobbler” so I ordered one. It was seriously the best milkshake I’ve had. Better than anything CookOut or Sonic produces in HR. I let my friend grab a taste and he agreed. I can’t speak on their food, but If you’re in Philly do yourself a favor and grab a milkshake from SquareBurger.

This place has been going downhill for the past couple years. My last experience was the final meal I will have there. We went on Friday shortly before noon and they were out of ice cream, lemonade & lettuce. The burger roll was stale & the burger was bland. Not sure if this is still owned by Steven Star, but it has been completely forgotten for quality control. Used to be one of my favorite burgers in the city, now it’s just over priced burgers that taste like 90% of the burgers you can get anywhere else. Also, what happened to dicing the veggies? I know you stopped doing that last season or before, but that was a great touch.
