Mountville, Pennsylvania; our town; is one square mile…Our dining experience starts locally with our Square Mile patrons and expands to all guests from surrounding areas and counties. A Public House has historically been a gathering place: A vibrant venue for the community to gather and enjoy the company of others. We pride ourselves on fresh, hearty meals and hand crafted drinks presented by hospitable service.
Our mission is just as simple…To provide our greatest asset; our patrons; with a place to come and enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks in an inviting venue with great personable service.

After a long, lazy day, my wife and I decided to head out for cocktails and a bite to eat. We chose Square Mile Public House since it’s close to home and always a reliable option. It was a quiet night due to the weather, but there were enough people around to keep the servers busy.
SMPH was spacious and clean, with a friendly, family-like atmosphere. Our server was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of—helpful without being pushy. The food came out exactly as ordered. My wife had the garlic Parmesan wings, extra crispy, and I went with the boneless wings with Thai chili sauce on the side along with fries. Everything was great.
We would definitely go back and would recommend Square Mile Public House to family and friends

This is an instructive review for the management team – as I suspect the kitchen was not only woefully underprepared but understaffed for a party of 12 at breakfast. The server started with cold coffee (not the best idea on the best of days but indicative of how the entire meal would go). While the server was slow entering the order, the kitchen had a complete fail understanding how to get it out on time, accurately and simultaneously. It took 55 minutes for the first round of orders to arrive, and they were missing items (like toast for eggs or sausage). Orders that should have been ganged were not. Also, don’t work other orders when you’re focused on one big one. Other tables received their food well before (like 30 minutes or more) before us. But if you have one person trying to get that many orders together, unless they’re veterans of back of the house, it’s impossible. In this case some food was raw, almost no food came out looking good or garnished, and even the simplest order, straight scrambled eggs with a side order of fruit came out last. An order that would have been easy to queue. The potatoes were not seasoned at all. And overcooked. Likely because they were refried because they became cold in the process. We weren’t unsympathetic- four of us have worked in service. The challenges to the staff couldn’t be overcome. If the kitchen was unstaffed, then it IS a management issue. Check the book the night before. A team update and training should be in order.

We had the cheese fries that were absolutely delicious. The turkey cranwhich was decent but the slaw they topped it with was dripping all over, making the bread soggy.
The service was subpar, lacking in warmth, and hospitality. Tge atmosphere lacker decir, but there were TV’s all across to keep you distracted from your company. ☹️

My husband and I ate there 2 weeks ago. The restaurant is clean and spacious.
My husband started with the house salad. Which was fresh and crisp. I had the cream of crab bisque, which was hot creamy and was full of crab.
Then my husband had the fish and chips. There was a nice plank of white fish. A generous portion of the fries were the shoe string type but were kind of blonde.
I had the Square Mile pit beef open face sandwich. It was on Texas toast. With fries. The beef was dry even with the rather thin gravy. Itt tasted pretty good, though.
I would like to come again and try the breakfast goodies.

So much food! The eggs were perfect and the home fries were fried potatoes, not the hash or cubed kind, and seasoned nicely. Big fluffy pancakes. Lots of variety on the menu, too. Check out those eggs benedict and chicken and waffles!

We met up with friends here on Saturday night and had an amazing experience! This place hits on all cylinders…space, drinks, food, staff, parking and (clean) restrooms! Parking is free and on site. The space is open and inviting. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We had cocktails which were on point. The menu has a great variety and has no holes in it…truly something for everyone! The lump crab cake (a family recipe) is the bomb and the best north of MD! The Square Mile wings are perfect! My wife was still talking about them the day after! The pizzas and tacos sounded and looked scrumptious…next time! And despite our living an hour west of this place, there will be a next time! The handmade baclava for dessert was the perfect ending! Bonus…clean restrooms! This place is totally legit and will be in our regular rotation going forward!

What a delightful find! Everything was delicious. We tried the Cuban egg rolls, the Thai salad, and the seasonal Street corn chicken bowl. The service was great!

Food was good, except for the hair in one of the orders. Service was very slow. Had a reservation for breakfast for a group of 6. Table was not set. No silverware, no condiments. Most of us ordered coffee, had to ask for spoons. Server brought one. There was no decaf, nor did they offer to make any. Definitely not what we expected.

Great local place, that seems to constantly upgrade!
Food is fantastic and they have a new pizza oven that puts out some really good pizza with all sorts of combinations of toppings.
Have been here many times and will continue to visit.
