24 hour cheesesteak places are a rare find. Went here around 1am in the morning for a bite. They don’t take orders over the phone, only from the window. There was a decent amount of people there for 1am, so I had high hopes. The food was ok. I found my steak a little dry and the bread tasted older. BUT, for 1am, it’s not bad.

This steak was very thick and hard to chew, very little cheese, just plain old dry. I’m from Philly but have moved away over 20 years and always come home and have a cheesesteak. The cheesesteaks at Jim’s in the airport are better than this, too bad they won’t be open for my flight in the early morning. I need to find another spot before I leave fast! I was hungry so I ate it and will give it 2 stars. Will not be returning nor recommending.

I find Philip’s to always be consistent but never the best. Steaks are made to order And again they’re always consistently good. The long hots are outstanding and I love their whiz. Fries are good Make sure you order at the other end from the sandwich counter and they are cash only. They have at a tables outside on the curb in the parking lot so you can eat there as well which is a nice touch. Not the best in the city but open 24 hours and always consistently good in a pinch.

Philips Steaks has been my “Go-To” steak shop for years. Had a cheesesteak yesterday and the meat was tough and rubbery. Didn’t even look grilled, was grayish as if it had been Boiled. Very disappointed as I always swore by this shop. Perhaps they changed up their meat supplier for a lower cost product. They now lost a faithful customer for decades.

I’ve never been so disappointed in my life. Apparently they didn’t read the order correctly. I asked for a roast pork with extra onions and no cheese. Not only did they GIVE me cheese (which I’m lactose intolerant), they gave me no onions. My daughter asked for no tomatoes on her chicken cheese steak and she found a mushroom (which she is allergic to). I spent $60 only to find the item delivered we’re not edible. It will be a long time before I visit again.

Just picked up a couple of cheese steaks, cheese fries and onion rings. The staff are really nice. Since I picked up multiple steaks the kind of steak was written on the front and the order was packed very neatly. My cheese steak hoagie was delicious and the cheese fries had cheese to the end of the container. Their onion rings were still hot when we got home. Thanks Philip’s for a very delicious meal!

Here’s the thing. I really wanted to love this cheesesteak. The roll was really good, perfect amount of whiz, onions done to perfection. But the meat tastes unseasoned. This was my first time so I’ll chalk it up to an oversight, but it was very noticeable. Luckily the amount of whiz I got provided enough salt flavor. I will be back but it missed the fifth star because of that reason.
