Social Profile:

If Spud’s is one thing, it’s fresh. Fresh in the sense that we make everything from scratch, from every dressing, sauce and chutney, to elaborate soups and outstanding desserts. Spud’s is also fresh in the sense in that our classic menu is continually re-inspired by worldly flavors, regional style and seasonal ingredients. We adore the sophisticated touch of the West’s best restaurants, and honor the casual comforts of small town North Idaho. Located in picturesque downtown Sandpoint, Idaho, Spud’s Waterfront’s reputation extends beyond the shores of Lake Pend Oreille as an excellent restaurant for locals and travelers alike. Dock your boat on the boardwalk, bike up from the beach, pull in on your way to the mountain, walk in as you shop.

Mellow counter serve featuring baked potatoes, breakfast & deck seating with marina views.

I love this menu! Soups, salads, sandwiches and potatoes! We enjoyed a little of it all. And did I mention the french fries? The best!! Great portion sizes. Love the flavors and different sauces. Cozy dinning room with beautiful views. A favorite.

My boyfriend and I ate here on our way to Kalispell and we absolutely loved it. He got the traditional spud as I got their special which was a chicken, bacon, ranch spud. This is definitely a place we will be coming back to!

Beautiful location, terrible experience for gluten-free diners.

I was excited to try this restaurant for their advertised gluten-free options, but the experience was disappointing. When I told the cashier I was gluten- and dairy-free, he laughed and seemed clueless. The manager’s response was dismissive, but we ordered anyway.

The avocado was hard and inedible, the potato was dry, and no one checked on us. The only staff in the dining area were busboys, including the one who laughed at me, so I didn’t feel comfortable asking for anything.

If you don’t want to serve people with food allergies, don’t advertise “gluten-free” all over your menu. The location is beautiful, but the service and food quality were poor.

Semi self serve counter – order, pay, find a seat and food will be delivered. View on the deck over the marina was wonderful. Potato leek soup was excellent. No bake peanut butter cookie was tasty!

Great lunch spot! Excellent location right on the lake with ample patio seating. Broccoli cheese potato was cooked just right with plenty of garnishes. BLT was excellent as well. Quick service, good prices.

Giant potatoes with a good selection to choose from (among other items). Felt very fitting for a lunch in Idaho.

Awesome experience! Food was absolutely excellent, service was great, atmosphere very comfortable cozy and welcoming. Conveniently located right downtown. Parking is a bit Limited. Downtown is certainly a walking area. Relaxing views from the restaurant. I had the turkey sandwich with tomato mayonnaise and garlic aioli and a side cup of butternut squash soup. Excellent lunch meal. Perfect amount of food, perfectly prepared. I’m visiting from out of town and I always like to check out local independent restaurants. This is by far one of my favorites. Highly recommended‼️

So I FINALLY got to eat here. Catching them open when you work a “typical” job is difficult at best unless you work right downtown Sandpoint and can slip in on your lunch. If you are able to visit, you shouldn’t be disappointed. I was greeted by the owner upon my arrival and he patiently answered questions while I tried to make up my mind.

They have a small selection of beer on tap and some bottled. I was impressed with the water station that offered not only iced plain but lemon or cucumber for that little extra freshness. I settled on a half sandwich and cup of soup but since I was hungry and this place IS called “Spuds” I opted to add a baked potato too…and yes, I did in fact eat it all.

The sandwich was hearty and thick cut turkey as was the bacon. The bread he has made locally with his own recipe and was fresh and fluffy even being the end of the day. The tomato bisque was a great accompaniment and warmed me up. There were several soups to choose from. I’m glad I got the potato as it really hit the spot. It came loaded with 2 types of cheese, bacon, and sour cream all drizzled with clarified butter. If you’d like to control your amounts of toppings I suggest asking for it on the side. I love me some sour cream but it was a tad much.

I’m very much looking forward to returning again and trying other things. Hopefully before tourist season starts although because I hear there can be lines out the door!

Best baked potato you will ever get, salads are great and so are the sandwiches. Pro tip, get the potato/salad combo for a full spectacular meal, its now my current all time favorite meal, good enough for yourv”last meal”.

arrived at 1:45pm for a late lunch. place was empty as it was late. ordered a sandwich and a soup — which is already made, ready to serve. took 25+minutes at a table listening to old 80’s redneck rock, without seeing a single service person. felt like I was trapped in an elevator or dentist office.
finally walked back to entrance, asked the cashier if the order was going to take longer. owner was standing alongside cashier. cashier states the order got lost. place was empty. we complained to the owner who just shook his head and walked away. we had been patrons for over 20yrs. previous owner was very friendly and always hands on. got our refund and left.
I could see if it had been recognized as a mistake, any form of apology, and efforts to address it, but nothing at all. not even from the owner. mentioned this at dinner with several other local residents who agreed the place had gone downhill
