Got in, the lady here is super warm and welcoming. That was the best part of the experience. (Group of 3) We ordered wings, and after a 1 hour wait. We got our food. COLD, n smelling like fish, I wouldn’t be surprised if the cooks use the same oil for wings, as they use for the fish. Wings were cold, small, and had a very weird tangy taste to them. Also the wings leave a weird fishy taste in your mouth after consumption. Plus we ordered Mac n cheese, and that never came out. Over priced in my opinion, for what you get.

Sprokets Bar – Where One Drink Turns Into Five (and You Regret Nothing)
I walked into Sprokets in the Drake neighborhood planning to have just one drink. Five drinks later, I was convinced this place might just be the best bar in Des Moines.
From the moment I stepped in, Jamie, the absolute rockstar of a bartender, welcomed me like an old friend. As the only white guy in the bar, I could’ve felt out of place, but Jamie made sure I felt nothing but at home. Its as if she had Jungle Fever. Honestly, if she ran for mayor, she’d have my vote.
The drinks? Smooth, strong, and dangerously convincing that you need “just one more.”
The food? Smelled so incredible I nearly ordered something off someone else’s plate.
The vibe? Top-tier. Great people, great energy, and the kind of place you don’t want to leave.
So yeah, I came for one drink and left five deep, happier than ever. Sprokets is a must-visit, and if you stop by, tell Jamie she’s a legend (and tip her well).

EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. I bought a shot of tequila. Got charged $2 for “neat” drink (it was a shot) and $1.50 for barely a splash of chaser (pineapple juice.) This $3.50 up charge was on top of the $9 half an ounce shot! So total $12.50+tax for the smallest shot & chaser
• It’s a cool crowd some nights but I probably will never buy anything inside again. Sucks because when I hang out, I like to buy bar drinks and I tip generously, but I dont like to feel like places are getting over on me!
• Food is ‘good’ because it’s fresh mainly but very overpriced as well for the taste/amount. You’d think you’re somewhere high-end for the cost.
• Service is subpar. Sometimes you’re waiting for 30+ minutes for a bartender on busier nights. A couple of the waitresses are unfriendly, not mean just RBF
• It’s just an okay place to go for 28+. Nothing more, nothing less.

Neisha and Jamie rock. Trey is a straight up dude. Good food. Inexpensive drinks. I was visiting the place on business and the vibe was right. Around the corner from home2 suites so well worth it if you here on business.

This was my 2nd time h?ere love their wings. 1st time I was told I could request all flats this time was told no. I ordered the buffalo sauce and parm sprinkled on top. They were just as great as they were the first time; however, now ill only go back with someone that will eat the dummies. Mac n cheese and glossy shrimp are yummy too. For frozen onion rings they were cooked good, had good texture and would order again.

Went there for the first time, and service was great. The food not so great. I ordered 6 wings, mind u they are like almost 12.00 or more without a side. On top of that they was burnt. and I asked for my Catfish fried hard. Catfish was not fried hard at all. I wanted to support black own business, I will not be going back!

Rico’s on University down in Dogtown (Drake) has awesome tacos for cheap and only on Tuesdays. Fast Service, friendly staff, games on TV, drinks aplenty, and good seating arrangements. Shrimp, Steak, or Chicken options. Good Verde too. I had ordered one of each and by the time I had one I ordered 3 more.
