The outside dining wirh gardens is nice too. A band was setting up.in a large screenedin porch. Our sandwiches were huge & we enjoyed the pierogies ,tasted like home-made.
The service was excellent. Staff was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. All courses came out at a nice pace, you did not feel rushed. Drinks were very good.
It is situated between Routes 378 and 412 and the rural venture off of Black River Road shower a beautifully appointed neighborhood.
The tavern sits on a relaxing and beautifully landscaped property and includes a screened in building, outdoor patio area, octagonal, umbrella topped tables, and the indoor dining areas plus bar.
Four segmented parking areas for about 50 + cars.
Now for the dining experience!
First a shout out to the chefs, Nick & Mikey, who prepared, arranged and presented the Broiled Seafood Sampler: generous piece of haddock, 1 shrimp, 3 scallops, 1 clam casino and a SVT crab cake, a HOT baked potato with six hearty stalks of broccoli. We added a Spring mix side salad for $4 served fresh and topped with red bell pepper, grape tomatoes, cubes and delicious HOMEMADE Dijon Vinaigrette.
We ordered the trout appetizer dotted with capers, raw red onion and an awesome sauce of their homemade Tiger sauce.
And to our server who ROCKED throughout with her genuine personality and efficient delivery of each course, timely and tactful. . . . KAYLEE.
She was an absolute delight in many ways.
And hubs rarely orders dessert although just the mention of that Banana Cake with swirls of cream cheese frosting changed his mind.
Homemade, moist and fresh.
All around delightful dining experience!
The food is delicious and the atmosphere is calming and beautiful. Well worth your visit .
This building has been around since 1896 and has hidden trap doors underneath during probation where people would hide when the place got raided. So much history here. Also, nice outside seating for the summertime.
The pictures below are of the crabcakes and trout with crab and sweet potatoe fries. I’ve always had stellar first rate service here too.
Our experience just got better with great dirty martinis, a great atmosphere down on the patio with the double fountains. Then came the food.
When I say the best clams casino I’ve literally ever had, I’m not joking. If you like clams casino you need to go there and try these.
We then had the crab cakes. Delicious and not filled with a lot of fillers. We tried the Portobello and crab lobster sandwich and it was delicious. Finished things off with a homemade key lime pie and also homemade chocolate mousse! The espresso and coffee was delicious as well!
Oh I forgot, sweet potato fries absolutely perfect as well as the regular fries were delicious as well. I don’t think I’ve written delicious so many times in the review! LOL.
As an added bonus there was a band playing off in the back area screened-in patio. That was nice because you can still hear the music but it wasn’t blaring loud as is normal in other places.
We look forward to coming here again and maybe trying the inside dining room area which looks very nice as well.
Give this place a try as it’s totally worth it.
