1. Planning: Elizabeth, the in-house event manager was lovely to work with. From initial outreach through the event, she helped us choose a space, menus, etc. and was always responsive to our inquiries.
2. Setup/day of: the Spring House team coordinated with our floral vendor, and made sure everything was set up perfectly upon our arrival, including placing our own printed menus & place cards, and setting up the cake.
3. Food & beverage: we had been to the Spring House before so we knew what to expect, but they absolutely came through for our dinner. Cocktails/bar service, passed hors d’oeuvres, and dinner were amazing. Especially the mini BLT sliders and steak!
4. Service: I really wish I could remember the name of our server so I could properly shout her out, but she singlehandedly managed all aspects of service for 15 for the entire night, and did so FLAWLESSLY. I really don’t know how she did it, but she was amazing; so sweet and fun to talk to, and made all of the details of the night flow smoothly.
Note: florals/tablescapes & cake were provided by external vendors.
We had another great meal at Spring House last night. This time we were with another couple and shared some apps and entrees. Every bite was delicious. We especially loved the tuna & tots and the meatloaf. We’re still talking about that meatloaf today! Shelby was a great server. He was personable and a real professional. It was also so nice to see Diane! Spring House is on our go to list now!
Granted, I did not get the chance to look at the full menu, but most places for pharmaceutical dinners had beef options.
I ordered the chicken and waffles and this was delicious. The lobster bisque was also excellent.
The food was very poorly prepared. We had the roasted oyster small plate and they were over cooked and very fishy. This is one of my favorite dishes to have out and we should have sent it back. We also had the beef cheeks small plate and it was a disappointment. It was tender but very under seasoned. The grit cake flavorless and the au jus tasted like it had been made with something like “better with bullion” and not been sufficiently mixed. For entrees we had the special of fettuccine with lobster and shrimp, the seafood was terribly over cooked and the sauce was very fishy. There should be nothing fishy about shrimp or lobster. We also had the lamb entree. It was served below room temperature and itwas chewy. The best entree we had at the table was catfish, but when you took a fork to it every bit of the crust fell off. The beans and greens that came with it were very sweet which was unexpected for a typically savory dish.
Overall, I was terribly disappointed that a $350 meal could be so poorly executed.
Our service was great, but the food was disappointing. We purchased two appetizers. One was the beef cheeks, it was good, the other Tuna and Tots which was the best dish we had. It was delicious but these were tater tots you could get anywhere. We did enjoy the house salad, the pickled onions that came with it were delicious.
For our entree, one was the special, filet mignon, that was dry with no flavor, with dry mashed potatoes. Our other was chicken and shrimp. The shrimp was delicious, the chicken lacked flavor. The grits that came with it were okay, fairly dry.
We loved the location and historic atmosphere, however, very disappointed with the food.
