The Spring House is a fancy place to eat downtown Winston. The ambiance is amazing with outdoor and indoor seating. Unfortunately, our last experience was a miss. We had a reservation through Open Table for 8:15 pm. They close at 9. We were seated at 8:30 pm. Our waiter seemed anxcious to close. There was no more bread service and only enough coffee for 2 of the three people who wanted coffee with their dessert. On a good note, the mushroom soup was perfection! The chocolate flan cake and the bread pudding were delightful! There was a very kind waiter who offered to take our picture! 🙂

I really enjoyed everything about this restaurant. It’s decorated beautifully! The food is presented in an artistic manner and tastes just as good as it looks. I will be back!!!

Very historic house. Very spacious and well appointed staff. The food was very good, except the sweet potato laksa (soup) was so salty, could not eat it.

Sophisticated menu. The prices are reasonable for such a sophisticated menu. The restaurant is located in a historic building. The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful, the outdoor seating area is peaceful.

Their lobster bisque was out of this world good. My entree was just okay… on the disappointing side.

If you are looking for somewhere that will meet every expectation, this is certainly the place. I have worked in restaurants my whole life, and this place runs a TIGHT ship. I am not an employee, merely someone who had the pleasure of an amazing experience in both food and service. Our waitress jennifer was prompt, knowlegeable of the menu and genuinely friendly. Out food was hot, delicious and most importantly FRESH. No frozen anything here. Sauces obviously all made in house and to perfection. My date had lamb and I had trout. Both were

Amazing culinary experience at the Spring House Restaurant. The food resamples southern comfort food with a fine dinning twist, paired with craft cocktails from attentive and skilled staff. I don’t know another place that offers such high all around value and experience. The setting and decor match the menu and quality of service. A must visit when in the triad.

One of the best meals I’ve eaten in a long time. I have been wanting to try Spring House for a long time because I have seen the menu online and even purchased gift cards for others and they loved it! The head chef is extremely friendly and amazing at what he does. The servers and wait staff are knowledgeable, attentive and helpful during the whole experience. They have amazing starters from shrimp, to fries and even vegetarian options. Their main courses shine here with locally sourced vegetables, quality meat and fish and pairings that are a dream. My favorite dessert is the bread pudding which tastes so good I want to sew my mouth shut so I don’t have to make my tongue taste trash anymore (aka anything else besides the bread pudding) They also have ♿ handicap accessible parking, seating, and restrooms.

Sadly very disappointed, seems to be a place for large groups, based on seating; portions and general service. The atmosphere is beautiful visually, but once inside the staff will rush you, came across obtuse, and kept interrupting. We had coffee at the end of our meal, and were being so rush and interrupted, we decided not to even let is cool enough to drink. The food was mediocre at best. The amount of bread that came out for two people was ridiculous. There aren’t many two people tables, and the waiter couldn’t figure out how to get all of our meal on the table b/c it was so small. The worst part is that we were celebrating massive accomplishments, and the waiter interrupted us so many times we couldn’t carry out a conversation. There as no pacing, and the food came out prepared like it was meant for 4 or more people to share, bizarre based on the description and website. Will not return.

Tried Spring House for an early Valentine’s Day meal and left wishing we went somewhere else. Overall, disappointed for the price we paid. The dishes sound unique on the menu, but then don’t follow through in taste at all. Mac and cheese was dry. Lamb was okay, but the feta and couscous tasted off. The duck was mediocre and something I could throw together at home for half the price. Desserts were okay. The butter cake had a unique texture but the apple creme caramel was like bland flan with super chewy “fritters”. Honestly the only thing we actually enjoyed food-wise was the $5 bread basket. Service and ambiance were nice, but the food not so much.
