Better than expected! We went in thinking we needed to extend some grace since they were newly opened this week, but wasn’t necessary. Our waitress Lizzy had a great personality and provided great service! I ordered the lasagna and I will definitely order it again—very good! I didn’t think I was much for calzones, but they converted me! One bite of my husbands calzone (and they’re plenty for two people to share) turned into two slices. Very happy to have another good restaurant in the area!!! Welcome!!!

Just had dinner and was very happy with the food and service. Mozzarella sticks were very cheesy. Pizza had 3 different types of cheese, awesome. Love all that cheese. Steve the owner was very nice. Definitely will be back.

Stopped in today for a quick beer. I must say the new owner has turned this place around, the menu is robust and refreshing compared to the usual sandwich places in Spring Grove. The service was super quick and friendly. The specials were on point. Definitely will be going back.

We grew up in the Homewood-Flossmoor area which meant we were weaned on Aurelio’s pizza. Since moving up near the Wisconsin border, we have missed “our” kind of pizza for 32 years. Well. NOT anymore!! Run, don’t walk to Spring Grove Pub and Pizza!! Sweet sauce, lots of cheese, great crust! Turns out the owner was in my class in high school. His father was a sausage supplier to several Aurelio’s. This family has a tried and true brand and knows their stuff. We have been there twice since it opened last week and are just thrilled! I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Side note. I was there the evening of an above terrible review, and I have to say my husband and I had the exact opposite experience. Go to dinner here, you will be happy you did.

9/23/2018 – Awesome place to watch the Bears Game or Football on a Sunday. Had a great time celebrating our son’s birthday too! Big tables for a group. I like the pizza, it is a good crust. 1/2 price appetizers during the game (good Mozz sticks!). 8/15/2018 – he Took our Son and his wife with a one year old baby. Excellent for families, groups, etc…Very good pizza, mozzarella sticks, and very good service. Pleasantly surprised!

This was my first time at Tommy’s. I enjoyed it. The drinks were cheap, the service was friendly and fast. We played a lot of pool while we were there. They have 2 tables and some other machines there. We were a bit surprised it was so empty, but I didn’t mind the lack of a crowd. It gave us more space to play and catch up with friends!

EDIT: THIS COMPANY IS TREATING EMPLOYEES HORRIBLE AND OWES SOME EMPLOYEES MONEY. MY SON WAS HIRED AND AFTER A MONTH, I INQUIRED ABOUT PAY AND WAS YELLED AT MY MANAGEMENT. THEY ALSO POSTED COMMENTS ON MY FACEBOOK POST CLAIMING MY SON WAS NEVER HIRED AND IN THE SAME SENTENCE ADMITTED HE WAS TRAINED. SINCE THEY’VE DELETED THEIR COMMENTS, I POSTED SCREEN SHOTS HERE. I ALSO UPDATED MY STAR REVIEW TO ONE STAR. THE FOLLOWING TEXT IS MY ORIGINAL, UNEDITED REVIEW THAT I HAD GIVEN 3 STARS.
We have been anticipating the opening of this resteraunt and we’re pretty disappointed it didn’t live up to the hype.
I visited this resteraunt on it’d 2nd or 3rd day in business and not once did ANYONE welcome us or ask us for feedback. No manager or owner or member of the family that owned it seemed to be present. I find that odd for a brand new family owned establishment.
Here’s my big problem with this place. The name is Spring Grove Pub and PIZZA. PIZZA is in their name. But there are no actual options for pizza and it takes up the smallest amount of space on the menu. There is only one crust option. No thin and crispy, no Chicago Style, no double dough or pan. Just their version of pizza. I prefer a thin crust pizza with a bit of crisp to it. I was told by our server they only make one kind of pizza and it’s a 50-year old family recipe and they have resteraunts in Indiana and this is all they make. I figured it must be amazing if you are willing to put PIZZA in the name of your business and place all bets on this one version. We ordered a 16 inch half cheese half pepperoni. We also ordered a garlic dough nuggets basket for $7.
The appetizer came out and I could not believe the tiny portion we recieved for $7.00(see picture). They were good but the portion to price ratio seemed way off.
The pizza looked good when it arrived at our table. But we had to scoot everything around and make room for it bc they don’t have those pizza table stands. We could not eat this pizza with our hands. It was so soggy it just drooped downward when you picked it up (see pic). We had to use a knife and fork which was a mess (see pic). The crust was soggy and there was so much cheese, I know this sound like a weird complaint, but so much that all you got in one bite was cheese. Maybe there was crust there too but since it was so soggy the textures were the same.
I asked our server if other options would be available in the future. I told her I preferred a crisper crust and showed her the mess we were making to eat it. She offered us a 2nd pizza at no charge that she would have them make “well done”. I don’t usually order my pizza well done but really wanted this to work out so I accepted. The 2nd pizza had a crust that was a bit firmer but still droopy. (See pic)
We brought the 2nd pizza to a friend’s house and the consensus was that with all the pizza options nearby, there really isn’t a reason to get this pizza again.
Our server was great and she earned this rating an extra star. I was surprised after being comped a pizza that no manager or owner followed up with us to see if there was s problem. And they were not busy. We were 1 of 3 tables eating dinner.
I loved the interior improvements made! We will go back to try the other menu items, but honestly, there is nothing unique on this menu. It is the same menu you can get at Tammy’s or Bricks and Ivy. Personally, I was banking on their pizza to separate them from the pack but that wasn’t the case.

Wonton wrapped motz sticks are worth coming for alone. Their pizza rocks. It’s different than most. Crust is thin and crispy, a nice mild sweet sauce and they definitely don’t skimp on the cheese. Also had the goat cheese app which was great. Others had a calzone, which again did not skimp on ingredients or cheese, and the pizza pub burger, which is a patty made out of ground Italian sausage. Everything was excellent. They just opened so everything will be even better as they find their groove. Happy to have another great option in Spring Grove. Get there if you haven’t had the chance!

My waitress was very pleasant but as far as raising the price of the food especially the price of the wings from .50 cents to .80 cents a wing still same size and then charged extra for side of sauce.I use to visit there 1-2 times a week now i guess i will going else where from now on.I was charged $70.00 for 50 wings an order of beer nuggets 2 cokes,1 sprite and 3 beers. That kind of money i could have went to red lobster for dinner.
