WHAT HAS MADE SPRING CREEK A FAVORITE DINING DESTINATION SINCE 1980? First and foremost are our delicious barbeque specialties – ribs, brisket, chicken, sausage, pulled pork, ham and turkey. With pits fired up daily at all of our locations, we get up early to hickory-smoke all of your favorites, and our ribs are then chargrilled for extra flavor. We feature a homemade BBQ sauce, made from our own secret recipe, fries and okra cooked to order, fresh salads with homemade dressings, giant loaded baked potatoes and the best home-baked bread you’ll ever taste. We can proudly say that we are still slow smoking after all these years!

The St. Louis ribs were the first thing that caught my attention. Tender without falling apart. That’s the sweet spot. You want a clean bite, a little pull, and smoke that lingers without overpowering the pork. These ribs hit that balance. The brisket followed suit: sliced thick, proper bark, and enough rendered fat to keep it honest. This isn’t competition barbecue trying to impress judges. It’s comfort barbecue meant to be eaten with family, and there’s something respectable about that. The sausage delivered that classic Central Texas snap, juicy with a peppery finish that plays well with their house BBQ sauce.
Sides matter more than people admit, and the mac & cheese held its own. Creamy, warm, and built to support the meat rather than compete with it. The corn was decent, but I kept thinking how a touch of butter and a little seasoning would wake it up and bring it into the same conversation as the rest of the plate. Small adjustment, big payoff.
One of the signature touches here (and longtime customers know this) is the bread. Fresh rolls making the rounds is more than a gimmick; it’s part of the experience. There’s something old-school Texas about tearing into warm bread between bites of brisket and ribs. It slows the meal down in the right way.
Their BBQ sauce deserves a mention too. Balanced sweetness, a little tang, and enough body to complement without masking the smoke. Good sauce should support the pit, not hide it, and this one understands the assignment.
What I appreciate most about this location is how it functions as a community spot as much as a restaurant. The Spirit Nights (where a portion of sales goes back to local schools) tells you exactly who they’re serving. You see families, teams, church groups, and neighbors sharing tables. That’s Texas barbecue culture at its core. It’s not just about the meat; it’s about the gathering.
Spring Creek isn’t chasing trends or trying to be the next craft smokehouse with a two-hour line. It’s dependable, welcoming, and built around the idea that barbecue should feed people consistently and generously. Some meals are about perfection. Others are about reliability, warmth, and that feeling of walking out satisfied.
This place leans into the latter and there’s real value in that.
As you can see in the pictures, the food is so good it never lasts long enough to take any pictures. We have tried everything bar the sausage, and it is delicious.
However, it is looking tired & desperately needs a face lift. The restroom doors look gross you don’t wanna touch ‘em!
And when I ask her if I can purchase more bread, she told me there is gonna be bread every 10 minutes. I sat down by the time that that the girl came around after her packing up 10 to go boxes of bread, which I was watching. She finally comes around by that time. I’m completely done with my food This was a very bad experience. Oh, and don’t let me forget. It smells like they have a barbecue pit in the middle of the dining room. You come out, smelling like bbq, just horrible place.I will never go back. And I wouldn’t recommend you guys spend your money here. What a waste of time and money
I got the brisket dinner marbled with sides of corn and mac and cheese.
The brisket was very tender and melted it your mouth. It was juicy and flavorful. Overall very good. However it was pretty fatty on the aides as you can see in the first photo. The sausage was very flavorful. The meat was well seasoned and the skin wasn’t too chewy. The corn was good. The mac and cheese used to be really good but not so much anymore. The potato salad was flavorful well made. The coleslaw was average I don’t usually like coleslaw though. Freshly baked bread came about every 7-8 minutes. The bread was soft and very good, but it may make you too full to finish everything else.
Service was great and overall this place has very good barbecue.
While you wait on your order, you’re offered a complimentary fountain drink. I always get the peach tea but that day, it was barely enough to make half a cup. I had to pour unsweetened tea to fill the cup the rest of the way.
I ordered the brisket and sausage dinner with a loaded baked potato for $18.95. The potato was HUGE but somehow fell short.
The serving size of this dinner was very reasonable for the price I paid and could have easily been split with a second person.
Both the brisket and sausage were very moist. The baked potato, however, could have been cooked a little longer and possibly seasoned all the way through. If not for the toppings, the whole potato would be bland.
Overall, the meal was tasty.
