WHAT HAS MADE SPRING CREEK A FAVORITE DINING DESTINATION SINCE 1980? First and foremost are our delicious barbeque specialties – ribs, brisket, chicken, sausage, pulled pork, ham and turkey. With pits fired up daily at all of our locations, we get up early to hickory-smoke all of your favorites, and our ribs are then chargrilled for extra flavor. We feature a homemade BBQ sauce, made from our own secret recipe, fries and okra cooked to order, fresh salads with homemade dressings, giant loaded baked potatoes and the best home-baked bread you’ll ever taste. We can proudly say that we are still slow smoking after all these years!

An older customer was picking up his order when a manager approached him regarding an additional charge for sauce. The issue was not the policy itself, but the manner in which it was communicated. The manager spoke in a loud, abrupt, and condescending tone, creating an unnecessarily uncomfortable and confrontational situation.
The customer calmly explained that he has been a loyal patron for over 20 years and is a local teacher who has supported this business consistently. Rather than addressing the situation with respect or discretion, the manager escalated it publicly. The interaction disrupted the atmosphere of the restaurant and made other customers, myself included, uncomfortable.
I even offered to pay for the additional charge in order to de-escalate the situation, but by that point the customer had understandably lost trust and requested a refund, choosing to take his business elsewhere despite his order already being prepared.
This was an avoidable loss of a long-standing customer and reflects poorly on leadership at this location. Customer service is not just about enforcing policies, but about how those policies are communicated. Unfortunately, this manager demonstrated a lack of professionalism, emotional awareness, and customer-facing skills expected in a management role.
I would appreciate a response from ownership or upper management. Without accountability or corrective action, I will also be taking my business elsewhere, despite having been a loyal customer for over four years.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had such a bad experience at a restaurant. The service was terrible — no personality, no smiles, and not a single check-in during the entire meal.
The food was even worse. The brisket was dry and completely lacking flavor, the ribs were dry with only mediocre seasoning, and the baked beans tasted like they came straight out of a can. The mac and cheese seemed boxed, and even the hot rolls had no seasoning or flavor.
I honestly don’t understand how this place stays open. There were hardly any people dining in, and now I see why. Save your $90 and take your family somewhere else. Definitely not recommended.
UPDATE 2023: I love there pickles man they have the best pickles lol! I swear! I got the brisket and sausage today. For $20.00 I didn’t feel it was bough meat. It’s pictured below! But the meat is very good, I will say that. And I love there bbq sauce it’s really good. Fries are ok, not the biggest fan but…. So there you have it
The customer service experience could definitely be better. The bread with the butter is freaking awesome!!!! The salads look really good as well. I get the chop brisket sandwich and fries (fried foods are always made to order so they are fresh). One thing I do miss is there spicy bbq sauce it was the best I’ve had in Texas and they took it away. But always a good experience with the food.
