So happy my client introduced me to Spring Bistro on Bulverde Road—what a hidden gem! This cozy, family-owned restaurant has such a welcoming vibe, and the food absolutely delivers.
As someone who eats gluten-free, I was thrilled by how many options I had to choose from. Today I tried the Vietnamese spring rolls and the lemongrass chicken bowl, and both were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. You can really taste the care that goes into the food.
Also pictured are the teriyaki beef and sesame chicken bowl (not gluten-free), which looked just as delicious and were a hit at the table.
Highly recommend Spring Bistro for anyone looking for amazing food, great gluten-free options, and that warm, local, family-owned feel. I’ll definitely be back! ️

First the good. The REALLY good. The food is exceptional. We ordered beef pho, Vietnamese noodles, fried rice, and a bunch of appetizers. The food, no joke, is awesome.
The atmosphere was perfect for what I would describe as “a perfect date atmosphere”. Quiet, clean, and private.
The service, unfortunately, was not as great. There was only one waitress and, while she was trying her best, the service was incredibly slow. This might have been a one off but still, it was unbearably slow.
I have to mention this too, the waitress must’ve been 40 years old but… She was gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. Guys, you have to check her out.
All told, I recommend this restaurant VERY HIGHLY. The wait is worth it.

I tried it today and I was IMPRESSED. Super clean, very friendly staff, easy to order, I got the chicken Pho. The large is HUGE for a single serving, I’ll get 2 maybe 3 servings out of this. My new favorite Pho place, it was soooo good! And the Jasmine tea?! SOOOO GOOD!

I arrived around 5 for an early dinner. The place was empty which felt like a red flag at first. The waiter was a young man and was very friendly to me. I ordered the pork vermicelli combo bowl which I’ve had many times at great restaurants. This meal didn’t disappoint. I would give it 4-5 stars just because it felt like the noodles were made hot which typically this is a cold dish aside from the protein. I asked for the peanuts because they didn’t put any and the waiter brought me some without hesitation. Next time I will try the pho.

AMAZING FOOD! Fresh, made to order food. Everything was delicious. The inside of the restaurant is low key but clean. This is not fast food so if you are in a hurry, order ahead. This will be a regular for our family.

Honesty is the best policy. The only thing that came out rite was my thai tea. Yesterday I ordered Curry chicken and Vietnamese egg rolls. Being that it was my first visit I expected good results based on the cleanliness. However to my surprise the food I ordered was incorrect and the style of egg rolls I was expecting was incorrect as well. Being from Asian decent. I’m highly disappointed they don’t know their own menu. As a foodie I was polite and paid. But honestly I think language barrier was an issue and that smile isnt worth another penny of my hard earned money. Chicken curry does not come brown served with all kinds of vegetables like a srit fry. I should have been brought a green or red sauce with some heat to the flavor profile. That would have had some type of coconut cream introduced the curry. Yet I was served more like chicken stir fry. Secondly, Vietnamese egg rolls, I received the traditional kind served from any other Chinese restaurant. Vietnamese egg rolls are smaller with no rice wrapping fried. It should have been the meat itself served with lettuce leafs to where I would wrap the meat and dip it in Fish sauce mixture. What I got was sweet and sour sauce and only 1 egg roll. I order the appetizer. Which should have been at least 3. Personally this to me is this a Chinese hustle. Im ashamed that I supported this local business and was given gabarge in return. Trust me when I say there’s better food in Castle Hills Area, than this place especially at 22.00 dollars for one person. Don’t let their smile fool you. If you can’t get rite the first time, than you lost my business.

I am absolutely shocked that when we called the restaurant after telling them we nearly chocked on two pieces of black plastic like material in the Vietnamese spring roll that they argued with us about it rather than taking back the order and refunding the whole meal. Why would we want to continue to feed our family the other dishes as well knowing that one of the orders had plastic remnants cooked inside of it? It was a ridiculous back and forth with no accountability or apology by the female manager that we were directed to. a APPALLED

Stopped here to get some Boba drinks, but then we decided just to have dinner. Very casual & small. We liked the Bobba drink, but when we asked if they were cold like a smoothie or more liquid the girl wasn’t sure. They ended up being a blended smoothie type. Good flavor and refreshing for a hot day. We ordered a couple plates, but when we asked a few questions the girl couldn’t answer what was in the plates. She went to ask and got back to us which was great, but she really should be more familiar with the products. Everything tasted good so that’s a plus. We will probably go back again and try more dishes.

Pho review – I’ve been coming here for 5 years on and off, and every time I return their pho gets better and better. Their beef broth is amazingly bold but not over powering. Their broth is cooked for over 12hours and you can taste the tradition and dedication in the broth they create. You get the best out of every ingredient. The soup ladle they give you aren’t the traditional tiny ones and will never drop into your soup(because of its long stem/handle). The portions are spot on, and the quality is always grade A. The husband and wife owners are wonderfully friendly. Holly is always out with a smile and enjoys a short chat before returning to the kitchen to cook amazing food. Though the servers change, the ambition of serving great food does not. This is my fav. Pho place in SA.
