Spread’s sells the legendary Montreal-style bagels, made in an open brick oven. I’m not even sure you can find these bagels in the city of Montreal anymore, because of new fire codes banning use of open, wood fired ovens!
They have an amazing variety of styles and flavors from chewy and salty, to fluffy and sweet. Even though many sell out early (I love to watch them wheel in the fresh bagel dough early in the morning!), I’ve always found that they have a few of my favorites left later in the day.
Service is great, too. They always wrap the savory and sweet in separate bags!

Spread Bagelry has some really good bagels! Nice cozy place! A couple small tables inside if you’d like to sit and eat. There’s also window seating. They use wood oven to bake the bagels in the oven. Bagels always fresh tasting! Variety of bagels and spreads for them. They also have bagel sandwiches. Thought coffee was just ok. I like it a little stronger. Had Whitefish and everything bagel.

Are you kidding me? I ordered a toasted bagel with butter and American cheese and this is what they sent me out with. When I got back to my office and opened it was so shocking it caused me to laugh. How can you let this leave your establishment?

A small step above Trader Joe’s or Costco bagels, these are basically bread in the shape of a bagel. Montreal style these ain’t – and the cream cheese is likely not very high quality based on the texture. I don’t feel I got even $5 worth here. Pass. Go to Vanilya, or make your own bagels. They’ll be more fun and better.
Additionally, service sucks here. Surly, and everyone seems unhappy. Perhaps the management needs a rethink.

Ordered online on Friday at 8am and got my bagel at 8:10. Not a bad bagel just not sure I like the Montreal style bagels. You should expect them to be sweeter and more dense than normal bagels. The side jam I got was $2 but super yummy so all good in the hood. Def a messier bagel if you do get cream cheese…it slides around a lot. Given the smaller holes with the Montreal style bagels I might suggested doing more of a egg patty/omelet-esque so it fills in the hole and the cream cheese doesn’t slide through as much…my BEC was solid though. Ended up eating it more deconstructed style with a fork because it was so messy. I got it toasted and had no issues, like other reviews might alude too. Was a little more than I wanted to spend (I spent $16 after tip…sando was 12 I think) but honestly no qualms. Oh also cheddar cheese wasn’t all the way melted but that is a little nitpicky. Respect to the process of making bagels like that but not for me. So 3 stars just because if you are looking for classic BEC and original bagel taste and texture this might not be the place for you.

Unless you like soupy creme cheese on an undercooked bagel stay away from this place. Its absolutely disgusting.

I ordered a nova lox bagel with added capers through GrubHub. I had excellent service with my sandwich being ordered and delivered. I ate half and realized I didn’t see any capers so I flipped the other half over and was horrified to see the whole bottom half covered in mold. I called the store twice and no one answered even though their store is open until 3 pm. What terrible service from the actual restaurant itself. I hope I don’t get too sick from the copious mold on this bagel that I only noticed half way through.
