Fit and Grandmother
This is a recreated tavern that is cozy but VERY small! I recommend sitting outdoors if the weather is nice enough. I stopped in twice, once during the What Lurks Beneath event for a beer and once the following day for a quick snack.
The service was quite good and fast. They made the alterations I needed to have a warm quick vegan bite. I got the flatbread without cheese and a Whalers IPA.
The flatbread was meh, with too much balsamic vinegar. The regional beer was delicious. I ordered it everywhere I found it available on the menu!
I recommend eating before you get to the museum grounds because the food is average and the prices are really high. Stop by the tavern for the service and the beer!

Came here for the museum’s member appreciation day, and the Tavern was serving complimentary snacks. I didn’t get the name of the person working behind the bar making drinks that night, but he was working alone and despite it being really busy (and hectic), he was patient, polite and funny with everyone there. While my family sat outside at one of the tables to enjoy the music, he brought out a fresh batch of hot pretzels that he had just made and he gave it to us, and another table. We all sat and watched the sunset while enjoying music, and delicious pretzels!

We love going to the Mystic seaport and this was a great pub! The food was terrific and the beer was great. You order inside of the counter and they bring it to your table outside. They also have indoor seating. Would recommend if you are going to see the historic village.

The ambiance is very charming, however the food is awful. I ordered the roast beef sandwich which was stone cold and tasted like it had been pre-made and sitting in the fridge at least a day. The chips with it were soggy and rubbery, but actually the best part of the meal. This food was not cheap either. $15 per sandwich. With bottled non-alcholic drinks and the obligatory tip they ask for, despite rather surly service at a counter, it came to $46. Very poor experience.

Had a bite to eat during the Woodenboat show. Small menu, a bit pricey, but I had a good Rueben and the family enjoyed their meals under a nice shady maple tree. The wait staff had great tshirts, which I want. Good times.

Great first experience at Spouters Tavern. It was a very busy day at the Seaport (huge antique car show) and the tavern was packed inside and out -but I was hungry and gave it a shot. No long wait to place my order with Heidi and my Joseph Conrad sandwich came out in no time. It was excellent with a cold beer btw. Next time I’m at Mystic Seaport, that’s my lunch spot!
