I had an amazing dining experience at the Spotted Dog. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The Purses with Sage butter was one of my favorites simple, delicious, and perfectly tossed in olive oil without any heavy sauces. It had a clean, fresh flavor that really stood out.
The lamb shank is a must-try. It was so tender that when I held the bone and lifted it, the meat stayed on the plate. That’s how perfectly cooked it was. Absolutely worth it!
The prices are on the higher side, but for a date night or a special evening out, it’s definitely worth every dollar. Highly recommended.

Had our Christmas dinner here. Arrived early because I didn’t have reservation but was seated right away. The appetizer and salad were both delicious with good portion. Only one small thing left a sour taste in my mouth is the bill was handed directly to the person assumed would be paying. It’s unnecessary as the bill can be just placed in the middle of the table.

We had such a lovely dinner at Spotted Dog Restaurant in Zion! The service was friendly and our food came out surprisingly quick, which was a nice treat after a long day exploring the park.
I ordered the lamb shank, which was tender and full of flavor, and my partner had the purses pasta with chicken — both dishes were delicious and well-prepared. We also enjoyed a simple side of bread, which was fresh and the perfect complement to our meal.
Overall, the atmosphere was cozy, the staff welcoming, and the food absolutely worth it. A wonderful spot to relax and enjoy a good meal while in Zion!

After a long day of hiking and having a subpar lunch, my family and I were so glad to enjoy a nice dinner at Spotted Dog!
I got the halibut which was cooked perfectly, not dry and overcooked. I got the sauces on the side. It also came with risotto cake and seasonal veggies (spaghetti squash and asparagus. The spaghetti squash was SO GOOD! Very flavorful).
My kids got a Lamb shank to share with the meat falling off the bone. They enjoyed it along with the seasonal veggies.
My husband got the meatloaf which he thought was ok. He liked our kids’ lamb better.
Service was great, staff friendly. We’d definitely go back!

Such a lovely spot just a couple of minutes from Zion National Park! The atmosphere is great and the staff is amazing — when we first arrived, there were no tables available outside, and it was freezing inside because of the AC. The staff noticed us bundling up in our sweaters and managed to find us a table outdoors, which we really appreciated.
Dinner for four came to about $172 (without alcohol). Everything we ordered was delicious, though I have to say the bison ground meat is definitely more of an acquired taste.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area!

Ordered the lamb shank and burger. My boyfriend enjoyed the burger but the lamb shank was nothing special. Especially for the price. The peas had an unpleasant hard texture and the carrot was undercooked. The sauce mentioned for the lamb was more of a light drizzle… certainly not enough to offset the bland fingerling potatoes and the shank was on the dry side. Food was presented well and the property has beautiful views from the outdoor seating area. Our server was very pleasant and we had timely service despite being understaffed.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving feast at the Spotted Dog. They were warm and gracious, and the food was good. Spectacular scenery just outside the restaurant. Highly recommend.

Halibut was worth every penny. The purse dish is wonderful. Service was and is excellent. Highly recommended this place. Brie was good but smaller to split maybe get to appetizers. Overall would come back in a heart beat. Also the best meatloaf.

Went to The Spotted Dog for post hiking grub after a multi trail Zion hike. It was conveniently located in Springdale and just down from the Visitor Center entrance to Zion. My hiking gear is good stuff and still looked decent for entering the eating establishment, but if I had been muddy or dusty from caving or climbing, I would have felt dressed down. The staff were topnotch and friendly and the food tasted delicious. I had the wild game meatloaf, my friends had the trout and the salmon. I thought the meatloaf had a fun presentation. It was really thick and big with good texture and great taste. There were (?) boniato or Japanese sweet potatoes that I enjoyed very much. My friends both said their dishes were excellent and they would recommend them. The price was toward the high end, but I find it that way through out the Zion area. I think my Meatloaf was $29 and was made of elk/bison. We dined on the patio and we really enjoyed being part of the town atmosphere. The inside looked elegant and inviting。but after hiking we went for the more relaxed feeling. It ended up being one of my favorite places I ate at in Springdale and the Zion region. We stayed in the area 6 days, so I think that suggests it made a pretty good impression on me. According to a guide, we learned that The Spotted Dog gets it’s name from the dog that was used to test the Cable Mountain system in the park. So another fun spin on the place. Right? If you aren’t sure about where to go…choose the Spotted Dog. Adding a quick Pic I took of my wild meatloaf
