Love this down and dirty fresh seafood place. The sandwiches are consistently good, especially local yellowtail. Great fries and shrimp cocktails too. Lowkey, affordable place to get a beer and a bite in a casual atmosphere while looking out at the boats.

Best lobster of my life and I have driven 8 hours in a single day to eat fresh lobster. I was in San Diego for a week and always get fresh sea food when I can. The lobster is from mission bay caught daily. It was cooked perfectly with strands of meat easily pulled off. I visited 4 days out of 7 so I could enjoy each meal. Fresh clams and mussels were amazing too. They oysters were great and the Tuna jerky is the real deal. Chef Quetita is the best and you can taste the love she puts into the food. It is fresh and delicious. Nothing else is needed and the view of the bay is a great bonus.

Great place to eat if you’re staying at the Hyatt hotel (walking distance). Good, friendly, and fast service with great food. I got the Ahi tacos and they were incredible! Saw a lot of locals here, so you know it’s good. The atmosphere made me pause and consider eating somewhere else at first, but I’m glad I stopped in.

Had a beer before a sunset whale safari, dinner after it, then lunch the following day after another whale safari. Shared a fish & chips with extra chips in the evening. Had 1 fish & chips with a prawn taco & an ahi taco for lunch. Super tasty, good value, cooked fresh to order. Do go.

Sportsmen Seafood definitely has that hole-in-the-wall vibe. You order at one window and pick up at another, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. When I first arrived, the smell made me think the food was going to be great.
Unfortunately, the grilled yellowtail I ordered was a disappointment—the fish had no flavor, and I found myself drowning it in lemon juice and tartar sauce just to get through it. The vegetables were equally bland, and I didn’t even finish them. The best part of my meal ended up being the French fries.
On the positive side, since I chose to dine in, the staff came by a couple of times to check if I needed anything, which I appreciated.

We really enjoyed this little place by the pier. Walkable from Hyatt. Interior is a little rundown, but the staff worked hard to keep it clean. All the seafood we had were fresh. Side of grilled veggies was good and so colorful. Garlic bread was nicely done. Great little gem.

This is the first place we came to when we landed in town . Parking was smooth and we ordered right away. Place is a bit small inside but we sat outside . I got the shrimp and fries and my parents got the fish sandwich. I will say my shrimp was very hot and seasoned. I enjoyed my meal and ate everything. They did give you a lot of fries. Had the dockside view and everything was good.

The food was inexpensive and very delicious! I ordered the garlic bread, clam chowder, and fish salad. The restaurant was simple but clean, and I enjoyed a very pleasant meal while sitting by the seaside pier.

Picked this place for lunch after arriving in San Diego and visiting the beach by Mission Bay. It looked local and non touristy. It was perfect. I did think my halibut was tastier than the yellowtail my bf ordered. We sat outside. I really liked the rice and grilled vegetables versus fries.

We enjoy grabbing a fish and chips and a squid plate when staying at the Hyatt Regency.
Food is always fresh and made to order. Service is friendly. Prices are fair.
