Im new to Idaho and have been in this bar maybe about 5 or 6 times in the last few months. I met the owner the first time in there and she is a very nice lady. But theres a female bartender that has to be the rudest and shes there majority of the time I’ve gone in; after 5 pm. She never has a smile, says thank you and always a attitude “why are you here bothering me”. I wouldn’t write this review if it happened just 1 time bc everyone has bad days but this is every time Ive been in here when this specific bartender is there. Id say her name but shes never been pleasant enough to even introduce herself as she should. The bartender makes or breaks a bar and she’s demolishing what could be a great hangout. Thanks but I’ll spend my money elsewhere, theres plenty of bars in Caldwell.

Tuesday March 26, 2024 I lost a little handheld purse black with diamonds on it ( small enough to hold cards in it. It has a lot of cards in it and it has stretch straps to close it. )I’m at a loss looking for it. I think it may have gotten taken in the area of this bar or across the street at another bar. I love this bar, but I’m in search of my lost items. If anyone knows about anything please contact the places mentioned, or me if you can. Thank you. I pray someone returns it. Other than the mentioned… it’s a great place to go.

It’s a bar. A Great one at that! The review asking how much is spent per person is academic- it depends on how much you drink but they are Very fair- They give a discount if you’re out riding and stop by while on your bike ( of the motorized variety, i’m not sure if the discount would apply to any pedal pushing bikers! A shot will presently run you about $5 compared to $8 per shot over at Verns for some reason and $3 difference PER shot is one good reason to go to Sportsman instead. They’ve got dart boards and pool tables – don’t be upset if I’m mistaken, but I believe playing pool is free on Tuesdays…
The best part is is that, in contrast to most any other bar in town, at Sportsman Hideout, a person can relax and enjoy yourself without being deluged with the constant flow of irritating kids, Brah, like Oh mah gawd, yipping until your ears bleed. The staff is attentive and most Everyone there (except one person- YOU know who you are! LoL- just kidding!) are awesome and friendly. Overall, whatever you’re looking for, this is the place an adult to go to have a few drinks, frozen pizza and to just relax and enjoy oneself.

Great little local hole in the wall. I love this place. A few snacks but you can also order delivery to that place. The drinks are poured generous and for a good price. Darts and pool. TV too. Some tables made from huge tree trunk slices, very cool.

This bar is the best, I love the bartenders and the owners are very wonderful people. Everyone knows who you are when you walk into the bar. This is a very good day that offers poker and all kinds of pool tournaments from 9ball every Saturday night to the once a month tournament. Check out their Facebook page for all the details. Nobody in sight when I walked in except the 2 patrons talking up the bartender but then I found 3 more at the pool table area… bartender was a pleasant lady but there was no reason to stay, no vibe, no atmosphere, no reason to revisit. Best thing happened when a lady selling tamales walked in and that was the highlight of the night!

I’ve been going to this comfortable small town bar for 30+ years. Never had a negative time. Bartenders are top shelf. Don’t let the fact that it may be a little out of the way, well worth it.
