Katie gave us amazing service!!! We love coming here and absolutely love the queso and homemade chips! The homemade biscuits and gravy with the mini skillet were soooo both soooo good! The service and food are always on point every single time.

Good value and a great burger with fries!

– Burger – $13.99: The beef patty was juicy and delicious! Nothing much for special flavor, but just done right! It seemed less messy than normal and not dripping everywhere as far as the patty. I asked for it to be cooked medium and it was cooked slightly below that, but I like it a little lighter anyway.

The pretzel bun was the same price as the other choices, so that was a no brainer. It was dense and yet soft and chewy. The toppings were well balanced and yet caused the pieces to slide around a bit. I was able to keep it together, but I had a bit of a mess because of this.

Overall, I HIGHLY recommend the burger. Probably one of my top bracket choices in the Grand Rapids area especially because it is a bit cheaper than many others like it. Great value!

– Fries: The fries were amazing. Great texture with the slightly less tough exterior and fluffy interior. The batter added an amazing flavor, too! Another highly recommended aspect of my visit. The fries came with the burger.

My friend tagged along and had the following:

– Cuban – $12.99: The dill pickle and mustard were a great mix and well balanced.

– Tater Tots: A dryer and crispier variety, though not uncommon for many other restaurants. I prefer softer tots, but these were fine. They were served plenty warm! The tots came with the Cuban.

– Caesar Salad – $3.99: Fairly good price for a salad and no complaints.

– Service: It was slow going at first. Took a while to get the water and enter our order. But once the order was made, it came fairly quickly. Everything was as ordered and she handled everything right, just a tad on the slow side. Maybe they were a bit under staffed that night?

– Atmosphere: It is a typical sports bar/restaurant feel. Lots of TVs with sports on (it’s in the name of the place). The is a bar with stools, but there would be little problem having kids there. There were some kids when we stopped by and they had booster seats and high chairs.

– Conclusion: I would definitely have no problem recommending this place based on the food! The website’s menu was outdated and I am posting this with an updated menu. The burger was a dollar more expensive than I was expecting from the website menu. Still a great value, though! They have plenty of great lunch deals and happy hour prices.

Visited on a Thursday at 4:30pm.

The atmosphere inside is very basic, but felt welcoming because it felt like our kind of restaurant (sports on tv, a bar, and casual attire).

My friend really enjoyed his Heart Attack burger (he rated it 8/10), but I got the strip steak and did not like it. My steak was very dry and did not taste fresh. The tater tots were very crispy and tasty, but they could have used some “special seasoning” to make them really pop!

Had their potato skins and they were really dry, even with sour cream. I would NOT recommend them.

Overall, it’s a great little restaurant that I’d recommend to anyone as their menu can appeal to everyone.

Update 11mos later
*watch for up-charging. Instead of billing me for a mushroom Swiss burger ($11.99 according to the online menu) I was billed $12.99 plus an extra $.79 for mushrooms as a create-your-own-burger (instead of billing me for the mushroom Swiss that was on the menu). My husband was also charged an extra $1 for his sandwich. Seems like a mix of raising/not changing menu prices to match the checkout prices, along with incorrectly selecting charged options. $28.37 for a sandwich with chips and a burger with tots was a bit steep. And you do not get as many of the potato side with takeout than you do with ordering in. The food was good (except for the undercooked tots), but I’m not sure we’ll be back.

Original review 2022: Such an amazing find! Becca, our waitress was amazing! The food was sooooooo good. Great portions for the price -they don’t skimp on fries or tots and I’M HERE FOR IT! We will definitely be back ans will for sure tell all our friends!

My husband and I have been looking for bars like this in the Grandville area and have come to realize… there aren’t any. Thankfully, Sports Center Cafe is close by. We stopped in for some drinks and an appetizer on a Saturday afternoon and their nachos did not disappoint! They were generous with the toppings and you can’t beat happy hour pricing. We will be back.

What to say about the atmosphere? If you add a saloon with a sports bar and stick it in a box you’ve got SCC. This isn’t a bad thing just unique.

I ordered the Flying Dutchman Burger. This is a burger in-between 2 Grilled cheese’s. With Bacon, onion sticks and bbq sauce. It was cooked perfectly with some excellent beef! The Burger was Very very Good. In the Top 10 I’d even say. Not sure I’d do the grilled cheeses bun again as it’s a little much. The fries were above average and tasty. I got the soup of the day which was Bbq Pork Chili. It was excellent and clearly homemade!

The service was excellent and very happy to serve.

Overall a 5 star review. The food was way above average and I will return.

Great place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. Portions are huge, don’t forget the box to bring home leftovers. Service is excellent and the cook knows what he’s doing. Thanks for our local family restaurant. Will be back. ❤️

I love this place. Breakfast, lunch, dinner – all good. The family that runs this place seem like good folks. Very price reasonable. Great place to watch some sports and hang out for a while.

This is one of those places that if you didn’t know about it, you would drive right past, never knowing what you missed out on. The food is surprisingly great, they pour like a hometown bar and treat their patrons like they are all locals. Very relaxed atmosphere where you show up in your favorite hoodie or flannel shirt but if you show up in a sport coat, no one would care. Although it may be a conversation starter. The menu is a unique take on the classics. If you are reading this, make this your destination, you won’t be disappointed, although if you think you are going to a downtown swanky location, this is not that. Enjoy, I did!
