Wow! What a chance to have docked at a marina at this town and come to eat at this restaurant without knowing what was to come!
Starting from the time we walked in and were greeted by a very friendly lady who sat us at a nice table. She happened to be the owner and a very interesting and friendly soul! I wanted to stay one more night at the marina just to meet this beautiful soul again but unfortunately there was no space.
Anyway, back to the restaurant! The food, oh the food! It was amazing! Truly the best we’ve had in quite sometime, and we just spent 3 weeks in NYC!
They have a wine cellar within the restaurant where you can go choose your wine at very reasonable prices. I was leaning towards a Vinho Verde which I thought would go really good with my Crab plate dinner and the owner recommended a vinho verde rose which was quite good!
My husband ordered a delicious pork loin plate.
We did not order desert because we normally don’t eat much at dinner so we were quite satisfied with what we had but we saw a plate of deserts being served at a table near ours and oh la la!
If you happen to cruise by or drive by this town don’t miss this wonderful experience!

Really cool restaurant in the heart of Belhaven. The interior is quite open, with high ceilings and unique decor.
Service was prompt and friendly. Our server, Jacob, was helpful and attentive.
The food was phenomenal. My partner had the pork chop and the sauce was incredible! I had the crabcakes, and they too were flavorful and delicious.
We had a wonderful evening!

We traveled all the way from Greenville just to come try this restaurant out, at the recommendation of a friend. And boy was it worth it! We were a little intimidated at first with how nice it looked inside, since we had young children with us and weren’t sure how kid friendly it would be. It turns out they catered to our kids in extra special ways and went above and beyond to make them feel welcomed: they brought out Shirley Timples, gave them coloring pages, and even brought out free ice cream at the end “if they drew something she liked”. It was a 10/10 experience, and we are very grateful for this place.

Luv this restaurant. I had a child’s meal . 2 small cheeseburgers & they were great. Had a good charred grill taste. The crab cakes Eggs Benedict & the shrimp & grits was also yummy. We had Mimosa’s that were very tasty. They have 3 different flavors. Our waitress was very good & personable. Can’t wait to return.

Beyond in every single way. We had the most fabulous evening not only in food, but interactions with every single person. Christina was a gem, and knew what we needed before we even knew. What an absolutely amazing place and meal. Upon walking in me and my two girlfriends were greeted with a warm welcome and smile and seated. We were told about the appetizer and dinner specials and offered a drink.
I got the meatballs as an appetizer for us all to share which had a great flavor and was delicious. For dinner I had the beef tips, huge portions and well seasoned. We were offered a desert of fresh blue berries and peaches with ice cream and whipped cream
The server was very polite and attentive, the owner took time to check on us as well as chat about the place and a little bit about herself. The chef introduced himself as well.
To say the experience was delightful is an understatement, an absolute amazing experience.

We were blessed to have our wedding reception in the events space at Spoon River. Teresa and Mark went above and beyond to make our intimate wedding celebration dreams come true. Every detail was executed so well! The space was beautifully decorated with stunning flowers and art. Teresa delivered on our vision and included several sentimental pieces throughout the space.
Samantha was so helpful from the beginning of wedding planning through the last moment of the reception and everything in between!
Chef Paul and his team helped us craft a special menu for our guests and absolutely knocked it out of the park. Our guests still rave about the delicious food they had that night. We could not have asked for more- it was perfect!

I fell in love with this place two years ago while on a duck hunting trip. Loved meeting Teresa and Mark. Great people. Finally got a chance to take my wife Sheila as well as our friends Dan and Kristine. Now they know why I am so crazy about this restaurant and the owners. We will be back again soon.
