New England plates pair with an extensive old-world wine list in intimate digs with limited seating.

Wonderful ambience! The drinks and wines were very good. The food was overall satisfactory. The sunchoke donuts (what an invention! A must-try) and the pork chop (perfect) were my favs. We also had the asian pear salad (it was a good idea but flavors got lost along the way), pork paté (more like meatloaf) and the octopus (bland [sad face]). Service was good. Would def come back for drinks!

Spoke Wine Bar in Davis Square was such an amazing experience! Cozy and intimate vibe, creative small plates that were packed with flavor, and a fantastic wine list that paired perfectly with everything we tried. The staff was so friendly and made the night even better. Highly recommend for a night out in Somerville! (If you like corn, and they have the corn ice cream— you have to try it! )

A creative culinary journey! We were thrilled with our Valentines dinner at spoke wine bar. We had about six dishes total which was plenty of food for two people! We really enjoyed the enoki toast and the spatzel dish but the star of the evening was absolutely the Burrata. We both agreed we had never had anything like this in the combination of creamy and salty with just a little bit of sour from the cabbage was mind blowing! We will absolutely be back. There is no other restaurant like it and kudos to the chef for being so inventive. More kudos to the staff who were attentive and knowledgeable.

Atmosphere was very intimate and service was attentive but a little intense. Some of the food was amazing like the roasted eggplant dish and the pork pate. But otherwise had such strong and strange contrasting flavors were literally inedible like beans + greens.
In general nothing we ordered tasted like we thought it would wish there were more details on the menu so we knew more what to expect when ordering.

Good service and ambiance but food was quite disappointing, each of the four items we ordered was bland or swung heavily sweet or salty on a single note without interest.
Mille-feuille(presented as a savory appetizer) is basically baklava level sweet, belongs in a dessert menu in any taxonomy; bland burrata is served with blanched! white cabbage and somehow tasteless tapenade; sweet potato discs seemingly steamed for a gerd diet served on a slick of black garlic sauce and topped with feta crumbles with nothing to bring them together; spatzle drowned in an oily soup of mildly sauteed cabbage and crisped celeriac crumbs in a sweet, and incredibly salty mustard cream. Each could use some obvious rebalancing or melding of flavors.
We had enjoyed it once several year ago, I don’t know what happened, but I would have difficulty recommending it to anyone despite a good drinks list, good ambiance, and good service. 1-2 stars if this was only for the food.

Staff were friendly, the ambiance was great (we sat on the patio, pleasant fall evening). The food was mediocre at best. The flavor profiles for 3 of the of the 5 dishes we orderer were bland. One of the dishes we ordered (lamb neck steak) was practically inedible: the meat was so tough that neither I nor my wife could chew it. Only one dish (sunchoke donuts) was great! At this price point, there are certainly better options in the area.

Neat and slightly upscale place with fresh ingredients boasting unique dishes and cocktails. The menu is tapas style so prepare to order at least 4-5 dishes if you go with you and another person. The menu changes from time to time, though there are a few popular dishes that remain such as the doughnuts. I recommend trying their desserts as well! Highly recommend getting a reservation here as seats are limited.

Service was great and the atmosphere was pretty nice. However, the tables are so close I kept getting bumped by the waiters. I am not a large person, it’s just how it’s set up. However, the food was atrocious. I’m not a critical eater, I generally consider myself as someone who will eat anything, but nearly everything myself and my girlfriend were served were very bad. They had a savory donut option that was stuffed with cheese and had powdered leek on top. It was actually terrible. It was fried well, but the combination did not work. They had a burrata that I liked. Everything else was just not great. I don’t write restaurant reviews ever, but I had to for this place. Spoke – focus on making good food instead of attempting to make waves.

We had a wonderful experience here — all the food was very good. I have a gluten allergy and found the staff/menu to be very accommodating.
Our favs were the Chicken of the Woods, eggplant dip, tuna, and porkchop dishes. The cocktails were also delish!

I keep coming back because it’s so tasty. The eggplant dip. The confit fish. The fennel fenugreek sorbet. The seasonal items. The wine.
Also, I appreciate how the staff are actually kind. I like to drink in moderation – 1 glass, 2 at most – so I appreciated that the waitress offered a sample pour before I committed. And I appreciated that there was no pressure to drink more and more. It is also generally welcome and diverse. I feel at home.
