Spina had been on my list for a while with multiple people telling me to give it a try. My experience here has since added me to the list of friends sharing it as a must try in Atwater Village. We enjoyed some beautiful and absolutely delicious plates! Started with the calamari, perfect. Enjoyed the peach and burrata salad, perfect. Got some bread to enjoy with the meatballs, all frickin’ perfect. Then we split the Pappardelle al ragu di Agnello and Ravioli dish, every bite perfect. Seriously no notes, even the ambience was great. I hope to come back and try more things! Thank you for the excellent food, service, and vibes!!

This place is perfect. The atmosphere is cozy. The food, wine and staff are amazing. You can sit at a table outside or indoor, or take a seat at the beautiful bar. This place doesn’t take reservations so make sure you plan ahead.

Parking is bit hard to find but there food was good. Calamari was nice and crisp, the sauce was a bit citrusy. Their risotto was nicely seasoned and balanced but their pasta sauce was a bit weak for my taste.

This place is a gem! We had a short wait of 20 mins over the weekend for a part of 6. The owner Andrea who is usually at the restaurant front was amicable and got us seated quickly. He greeted us at our table once we were seated. This place is definitely cozy – perfect for a date night.
The food and service were both memorable. The staff provided us with the best recommendations. We got the following items and they were all great. But the clear standouts for us were the following –
1. Branzino Grigliato Mediterranean
2. Costolette D’agnello Alla Griglia (Lamb Chops)
3. Sea bass Crudo (special of the day)
Overall, a great place to spend your weekend night!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Spina! The food was phenomenal – every dish was crafted with such care and flavor.
The peach burrata salad was a perfect balance of creamy, juicy, and fresh – summer on a plate! And the zucchini risotto with scallops was truly unforgettable: creamy, perfectly cooked risotto paired with tender, flavorful scallops.
The atmosphere was cozy yet elegant, and the service made us feel genuinely welcomed.
Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!
highly recommend!

The food here is delicious. But It is highly overcrowded. Uncomfortable seating outside. Hard chairs and you are elbow to elbow with the table next to you. For $130 dinner for two I need a little bit more comfort and relaxing atmosphere. This is a neighborhood restaurant for me, and I have only been once because it just really truly was not an enjoyable experience atmosphere wise for the money spent.

Few places in Los Angeles have friendly
top notch service and great food. This place has both. The staff is incredibly great from front of house to back of house. I’ve been twice and both times have been top tier. The pasta is some of the best the city has to offer. This is my new favorite Italian joint. Great wine, pasta and an impeccable staff. I love Spina!

Let me start by saying that I love this restaurant’s food and atmosphere. They are great and pretty high quality for the price–a good yummy and casual but not too casual spot. Unfortunately they don’t take reservations. Regardless, I tried to go there with a party of 6 for my girlfriends birthday dinner. I called three days in advance to see if this would be possible. I spoke to someone who told me that they typically don’t do this, but if I called back early on the day of they would be able to put me on the list and get me in at 7pm no problem. So I called back Friday at noon. I spoke to someone who again assured me that my party would be seated with no issue, they took my name and number and time of reservation, and told me to call back in an hour or so to double check. They mentioned I may need to show up early, but that it’d be no issue. I called back later and spoke to a host who echoed the same sentiment. About 40 minutes later I received a phone call from someone who informed me that the restaurant was now fully booked for the night and that my only option would be to sit outside. This was surprising and upsetting seeing as I had already called so far in advance, but I was okay with it. Only problem being that it was raining, a lot. They assured me that there was cover from the rain and this would not be an issue. When my party and I arrived, there was an entire table (for 7 people) finishing up inside that they would not give to us, and they sat us outside. There was not enough cover from the rain, merely an umbrella, the service was slow, and we got completely soaked. There was a rain gutter from the roof shooting directly at our feet. Super disappointing experience from a place that I really enjoyed previously. If they had just told me initially that they couldn’t accomidate me inside I would have made other plans. Instead they consistently told me they could accommodate and then dropped the ball on me last minute with no plan or time to recover. I might go back here, but not with a big party. Maybe I didn’t have the clout to get a table…that seemed like the vibe. Good for a date, or small group.

I came here because of the Red Dining Book and oh my gosh everything was good so good! My mind was blown! I got seated at the bar right next to where the food came out. I got to look at all the dishes and it made me want to work there hahah. Come try them you won’t regret it!

I liked spina a lot. You need to be in the mood for an authentic, somewhat informal experience as it’s a smaller space with a vibrant social scene. Great for dates.
Food is reminiscent of something the silly Gino Dacampo often says: “minimum effort, maximum satisfaction”. Simple yet gratifying dishes that certainly took skill and care to produce. I had the cacio, lobster linguine, and pappardelle. I liked them in that order.
Staff were lovely, some recently from Italy which was cool. Next time i plan to sit at the counter so i can watch them cook.
