Welcome to Spicy Duck – where the glow of flame meets the perfume of spice and centuries-old traditions awaken in quiet splendor. In this harmony of time and taste, the silken elegance of Cantonese artistry entwines with the bold, heady spirit of Sichuan. In our kitchen, each dish is a work of devotion, brought to life under the masterful hand of Chef Thanglawm Valte, where heritage is honoured, yet the present lends its own vibrant heartbeat. The noble and storied duck has been a symbol of joy, fidelity, and abundance in Chinese culture for centuries. In our kitchen, it becomes muse, carrying the essence of heritage in every form: tender and delicate in steam, golden and crisp in roast, rich and soulful in slow braise.
Stylish Chinese restaurant featuring Cantonese & Sichuan cuisine, located in the Taj Palace hotel.

Reviews
Good food , nice service and lovely ambiance.
Priced evenly for a Taj restaurant and dos justice with the standards of Taj.
Decor is also inline with the oriental theme.
Extremely disappointing experience for a so-called 5-star restaurant. The service was poor from start to finish, the staff was inattentive and unprofessional, and the manager was completely unhelpful and dismissive when concerns were raised. Basic hospitality standards were missing. One expects courtesy, efficiency, and accountability at this level, but sadly none were present. Definitely not worth the price or the reputation. This restaurant needs serious improvement in staff training and management approach.
Would not recommend.
With food, Dim Sums could have been a little better. Loved the dessert though.
Our Server was really friendly and we had a memorable celebration.
Looking forward to next time
Definitely worth a repeat visit.
I personally find it better than house of mings.
The ambience is just beautiful and the food here is absolutely Authentic Chinese cuisine. Totally enjoyed sichuan cuisine. The staff is really polite and courteous.
We had veg wok tossed fried rice, veg spicy sichuan noodles and vegetables in black bean sauce. All of these were delicious. My favourite was spicy noodles, it had a nice flavour of sichuan pepper and smoke to it.
The table was set beautifully and they had great quality of chopsticks as well. We all were served individual kimchi side dish.
I would highly recommend this restaurant
Ambience: This place blends luxury with comfort, You get a cozy yet elegant atmosphere here. Hot red lighting and dim lit decor with subtle Chinese motifs make it look quite inviting.
Service: Service is exceptional here, with friendly and knowledgeable staff eager to enhance your dining experience. They are attentive without being intrusive, offering recommendations and ensuring every guest feels welcomed and well-cared for.
Treated ourselves to luscious Cantonese & Sichuan flavours served with the magic of Tajness.
An extraordinary amalgamation of Contemporary vibrance, Minimalistic Elegant interiors, Cozy ambience, Authentic Balanced flavours & Warm affectionate hospitality.
The name Spicy Duck gains it’s inspiration from the Duck that signifies freedom, happiness and fidelity in China.
The food is all about home-infused oils, aromatic spices and a deviation from an overuse of condiments.
We kick started our meal with an assortment of dimsums.
Veg- Edamame dimsums, Shanghai dumpling
Non Veg- Pan fried chicken Guo-Tie, Chicken Pakchoi
Absolutely divine and come in the thinnest of coverings which are bound to leave you astounded.
All with perfectly cooked meat and veggies in elaborate and delicious sauces with a hint of spice giving it that kick.
Don’t forget to sample the duck delicacies when you land up here. We tried the Peking Duck roll and Mock Duck roll (Since my husband is a vegetarian) and they were insanely good.
Relished the Crispy Honey lotus stem, mushroom spring roll & Chicken Tai Chin too.
The staff was super helpful in helping us pick the right dishes according to our palate.
What’s even better than delectable food?
Some pours to match our meal!
We tried 4 cocktails
Consensual (Vodka based), Smoked Sandalwood Old fashioned (Whiskey based), Berries & Rose aperol spritz (Vodka based) and Aegeon Fantasy (Gin based)
And yes! Their Signatures surely hit all the right notes.
Their food is a delicious combination of taste and essence. For mains their Shanghai shredded chicken, Vegetable in hot garlic sauce, Ma po Tofu in chilli bean paste with Pan fried chicken noodles and Veg fried rice were definitely a treat for our tastebuds!
The perfect conclusion to our delicious meal were the desserts. Must try the Crispy date pancakes with icecream and Sweet chilli chocolate mousse in brittle basket. The creations will blow you away.
Spicy Duck is a real treat to all the senses!
