We visited this restaurant during a family trip to Cali and were so glad we tried it! The dishes had great flavor and real “wok hay.” Most of what we ordered was excellent — the lamb stir-fry was especially delicious. The only dish that wasn’t my favorite was the clams, as the first piece had a slightly fishy taste. Other than that, everything was great. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend giving this place a try!

This is a wonderful restaurant that represents Sichuan cuisine excellently. A friend of mine from Sichuan said the food here is even better than in Sichuan. The dishes are very flavorful and not necessarily very spicy. Good white pork and kung pao chicken. Great fish dishes too!

We ordered spicy and non spicy dishes here. Lamb meat dry fried with Sichuan spices on toothpicks was quite good. Also sautéed green pea sprouts were excellent. Shredded pork meat with steamed buns were delicious as well as the steamed carp fillet in sour and spicy soup. There are much more traditional Sichuan dishes here. Highly recommended.

Food is delicious. To me it’s not spicy enough; but the numbing hot 麻 flavor is strong!

The food here is amazing. The fried red pepper chicken is the best I’ve had: it’s salty, spicy, and flavorful. The staff is very friendly, always making us feel right at home. A must visit!

Good authentic Chinese! I liked the cold dishes. It’s in Focus Plaza, so there are many options when you come to the area.

Everything here has Chilis or peppers and can be very spicy to some (hence the restaurant name). They do very well preserving the traditional Hunan taste. If you like spicy Chinese food, this is a must try!

Spicy City is on the 2nd level in the sprawling mall anchored by the San Gabriel branch of 99 Ranch Market. Parking can be extremely difficult on weekends.
I went with a group of regulars. Items ordered included: Fried Chicken cubes with hot pepper; Spicy Shrimp; cabbage; Cumin lamb; mung bean noodles; shredded pork (aka “pork belly with preserved vegetable); Chungking style cold noodles; and sweet rice ball soup for dessert.
No banquet room, but there’s one large round table in the corner, which can comfortably seat 10 people. There was a group of over 25 people who were divided across three adjacent tables.
Taste is not very Americanized and over 90% of clientele were Asian during my last visit.
Highlights were the Cumin lamb on toothpicks and the Fried Chicken Cubes with Hot Pepper. It’s an acquired taste, but I really enjoyed the Special Sweet Rice Ball Soup; the base was a sweetened soup of sweet fermented rice wine with the grains, cooked egg strands and sweet rice balls filled with black sesame paste.

Hair found in Water Boiled Lamb. Extremely disgusting. I am a short hair and this is a long hair. Surely doesn’t belong to me.
The shop refunded this item and gave me 10 USD. Will you eat a soup with hair in it for 10 USD?
