I just discovered a newly opened Hunan–Sichuan eatery in Torrance — no more food desert here!
The moment you walk in, it’s a pleasant surprise. The space isn’t big, but it’s clean and cozy, with that comforting neighborhood-restaurant vibe. Best part? You can smell the food right at the entrance — full of that lively, down-to-earth aroma.

We ordered quite a lot this time, and the portions are very generous — such a win
First up was the Hunan spicy grilled fish: spicy but not overwhelming, with layered heat. The fish was tender, and the sides soaked up all the flavorful sauce.

Meat lovers should definitely go for the signature Hunan-style stir-fried bone-in chicken. The texture is hearty and satisfying, and the more you chew, the more flavor you get — very authentic.
The beef stir-fried rice noodles were a huge surprise!! The noodles weren’t mushy or sticky, packed with aroma — one plate was honestly not enough. As a Cantonese foodie, I loved this one so much!

To balance things out, we got the sweet-and-sour shredded potatoes — crisp and refreshing, perfect after the richer dishes.
The spicy mouthwatering chicken was fragrant without being greasy, spicy with a hint of sweetness — I couldn’t stop eating it.
We also added the signature chopped chili fish head: super tender fish, well-seasoned and flavorful without being overly salty.

Oh, and they also have freshly made drinks! Having one with the meal really helps with the spice. We tried both fruit tea and milk tea, and they were solid choices.

Overall, this place doesn’t try to be flashy — it’s a serious, home-style kitchen that focuses on good food. They even have everyday lunch specials starting at $10.99.

If you’re near Torrance and looking for a spot to hit after work, gather with friends, or enjoy memorable Hunan–Sichuan flavors, this one definitely deserves a spot on your list.
I’m already planning to come back to try more dishes

Everything was made fresh to order, and you can really taste the difference. The wok hei was strong, and every dish came out hot and flavorful. The hot stir-fried beef was super tender, and the hot stir fried double was a must try. Even the non-spicy options were well balanced and not bland, kids love them. If you love bold, freshly cooked Hunan food with real heat, this spot is worth checking out. Will definitely be back.

We went during the dinner rush and the place was packed! The food looked so good that the person at the next table couldn’t help but ask what I ordered. It’s spicy enough to make you sweat, but it’s so satisfying. Plus, they have a $10.99 lunch special every day—such a great deal!

Came here for dinner and was impressed with the food and portions. The sichuan pepper fillet fish had many sprigs of fresh peppercorns – it lives up the the spicy name. We also had the hunan beef and sweet and sour chicken from their lunch/dinner menu. We will be coming back!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between warm and modern, creating a welcoming space that feels both relaxed and refined. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely eager to ensure every guest felt taken care of.

The food was the true highlight. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, with fresh ingredients and bold, well-balanced flavors. From the appetizers to the main course and dessert, every bite reflected consistency and attention to detail. Portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the menu offered a great variety to suit different tastes.

What truly sets this place apart is its commitment to quality and hospitality. Even during busy hours, service remained efficient and friendly. Pricing felt fair considering the quality of the food and overall experience.

Whether you’re planning a casual dinner, a family celebration, or a date night, this restaurant delivers on all fronts. I would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Went for lunch specials on a weekend and this is a full level leap up in regional Chinese food for the area! Reasonably priced and very spicy (be careful if you aren’t used to southern Chinese food!). My mouth was still stinging well after the meal for the delicious hunan chicken with decent wok hei. The mustard shrimp was tasty, crispy and creamy. The San di xian (eggplant / green pepper / potato) was wonderful. The tea drinks were also good with fresh fruit in the fruit tea, and an extra good deal as a combo with the lunch specials. Bonus rural Chinese life videos were playing on the TV as we waited for our food. Service was prompt and friendly and she spoke good English. We would’ve eaten there if they had outdoor seating but we went to a park nearby with our takeout and that was great too. We’ll have to go back to try more Hunanese (and chongqing) specialties and fried tea snacks

I ordered the popcorn chicken and 3 kinds of protein (beef, pork, shrimp) fried rice. The fried rice was great, subtle but not too subtle flavor. The popcorn chicken was very good too but i wish it came spicy. Overall, i would love to try their other dishes and very much worth another visit. My only knock is serve time but its a new restaurant trying to find their rhythm.

So excited to finally have an authentic Hunan restaurant in the South Bay! The signature grilled fish is absolutely outstanding — it arrives in a large heated tray and stays piping hot the entire meal. The fish is tender, flavorful, and perfectly infused with the rich, spicy broth. The heat level is bold but layered, not just overwhelmingly spicy. Portions are generous and great for sharing. This is definitely going to be a regular spot for us.

Was really excited to try the chongqing fried chicken but it was just chicken and chili stir fry. Spice levels were good but flavor was lacking. Chow mein wasn’t good either. Cashew chicken was ok.
