First time here and it was not as expected. Tried the oxtail plate and was not pleased. The cabbage was not island style, no peas in the rice, and peas, and for $80 there was nothing but bones, no oxtail. The host was lovely and the vibe was awesome, but the food was not all that great.

My second time was visiting, and it was definitely better the second time around. I got the Curry Chicken, Plantains, and Rice & Peas. The serving size was enough to share with my friend. I ordered a lemon drop, and it was perfect. They do have music and just a nice chill astomophere for date night or just a night out with your friends.

I attended Wednesday Night Karaoke hosted by a very delightful,wonderful and striking young lady named Jody. The atmosphere light and definitely for the over 30 crowd. The host made the event very inviting and insured the crowd participation by her sheer energy. Would definitely recommend it for someone looking for something different on Wednesday food drinks were cool as well.

I purchased this meal a few weeks ago and I was very disappointed. This meal was not worth $37. The oxtails were not cooked all the way, rice was soggy and to top it off my potato salad tasted like a bowl of sugar. The manager did not seem to care . I was offered a 10% off my next meal. I would never spend a dollar there again. The least he/she could’ve done was offer to remake my meal.

When I tell you we were reluctant to go out that night because we were only in town for a short visit & were a bit tired my daughter& I, but let me tell you, there’s a time to be had at this place
Z. The owner is super entertaining along with his staff which includes a server/bartender that is a petite power ball of energy, & then there’s the hidden gem Mya the sweetest bartender ever but don’t sleep she also shocked us because the woman is a Cypher on the & ate up a rendition of a hip-hop song you only have to experience for yourself if you know your hip-hop I could hear & see her do it a million times & not get bored ❤️‍
I hate that we don’t live in the area, so we won’t be able to go often, but people in Columbus, Phenix City, & surrounding areas, you don’t know what you’re missing ‍♂️ ‍♀️ ‍ ‍
Get out, go have some fun & write a review about the blast & laughs you will have at Spices. I bet you’ll thank me for it

Me being a Trinidadian… this food isn’t good at all but I bought it so I have to eat it I don’t like wasting food! This food is Americanized, the meat was bland but spicy? The cabbage was bland and the rice was very much so bland I’m pretty upset but the bartender made me a very good drink while waiting for my food! She did a great job so that’s why I gave two stars…
