I would like to give huge shoutout to spice valley restaurant which is in Esquimalt. We had a corporate gathering of about 60 people from all around the world. We ordered samosas and pakoras, and they were absolutely delicious — fresh, homemade, and full of authentic flavor. The quality and taste truly stood out, and everyone enjoyed the food.
I would highly recommend Spice Valley to anyone looking for great Indian cuisine and a warm, welcoming experience!

Amazing food and great atmosphere! Every dish was full of authentic flavor and perfectly cooked. The spices were balanced so well, and the presentation was beautiful. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit.

I ordered via Uber Eats. I ordered the vindaloo, and the protein I selected was chicken. The texture of the chicken was really, really odd. It was not uncooked or raw but was not completely cooked through. I don’t know if it’s because the protein is not cooked in the vindaloo sauce but added later, but it was pretty gross. The potato was cooked. The vegetable pakora was good.

The other day, we ordered our usual and unfortunately, it was just one of those days, because there were a couple of mistakes. But when I called, they were immediately responsive (i.e. not defensive) and had one of their staff deliver the correct item ASAP; they normally only do take-out, not delivery.
Additionally, the order was placed through Skip and in the notes field for the mango lassi, I wrote “please bring back the galub jaman”, as it had been removed from the menu; we were delighted to find some in the delivery!
Anyhow, I had to get a refund from Skip for one of the items (that we unfortunately realized was incorrect *after* they’d delivered the corrected meal) and I felt terrible and was compelled to write a positive review for them here.
Basically, excellent food and staff, this recent issue was the first time we’ve ever had a problem with them and they handled the resolution perfectly.

Loved their hospitality and absolute friendliness. We are a tourist couple from Winnipeg and they made our visit the best in BC. Main dishes – butter chicken, tandoori chicken were excellent and the spices kicked in as soon as we ate it. The gulab jamun melted in our mouth and the naan’s texture was really soft and flavourful. We received complimentary mango milkshake and a big pakora platter from the chefs . It was an amazing experience. Must try. Also, everything is halal!

UPDATED: I always order and pick up directly from the restaurant so I have not had an issue with delivery. Staff were friendly. Regardless, this place is a GEM in Esquimalt. I have only ordered the curries and naan regularly. I have not ordered the samosas and pakoras in a long time.
PROS: In Esquimalt. Location is by a popular route bus stop and main road. The food tastes really good and I would say it has more flavour than other places in town. Never once did I have a bad order.
CONS: The portion sizes are smaller compared to other shops but still very flavourful. No dine-in (which is common post-covid).
UNSURE: Cannot really comment on atmosphere as there is no dine-in option but shop is clean.

Amazing take-out place! The food was exceptional—authentic, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. Everything was fresh, well-packed, and delicious. Easily some of the best Indian food I’ve had. Highly recommend!
