Our very popular Lamb Quzi is a delicious dish that will take you to the Middle East. Iraq has possibly some of the most delicious and enormously rich food in the Middle East. Mediterranean food is truly delectable, as amply demonstrated by our unique “burgers”. Our 1st visit today, and it was wonderful. Menu is full of flavorful dishes. I had the jumbo beef burger, an it was delicious. The patty had a Chapli kabab flavor as a bonus (you know if you know). The lentil soup was perfect timing to combat the snow and freezing temperature outdoors.
Will definitely return soon.

Very clean and pleasant atmosphere in the dining area. A clean bathroom is a huge plus! We started with the lentil soup with lemon, which was very flavorful. The jumbo beef burger was juicy and big enough to split with my husband. The stake wrap was disappointing, it was too dry since there was a very thin layer of meat with a giant wrap that was very chewy and dry. The chili sauce did not help. The tahini was bitter. The seasoned fries were good. Overall not a bad place to try new flavors in a new environment.

I visited Spice & Fire Grill this morning for breakfast, and it was honestly one of the best Iraqi breakfasts I’ve had in Chicago. The food was fresh, flavorful, and tasted exactly like home. The eggs, tea, and fresh bread were perfect, and everything had that authentic Iraqi touch you can’t find everywhere.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and the service was fast even though the place was busy. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, making it a great spot to start the day. If you’re craving real Iraqi flavors and a satisfying breakfast, Spice & Fire Grill is definitely the place to go. I’ll be coming back for sure.

Amazing experience from start to finish! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor( real Iraqi breakfast). The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Everything arrived on time and was beautifully presented. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great Iraqi breakfast and excellent service

We learned via a search that this restaurant services Iraqi cuisine so we went to try it out. And we were stumped by the high quality food and service.
We tried the lamb qafri platter which come with a choice of rice and a soup, shawarma sandwich meal which comes with rice, fries, and a drink, and egg plant salad. All dishes were exceptional. The egg plant salad was very unique with its mild seasoning. The lamb shank was slow cooked in aromatic spices and it was juicy. The waiter was kind to serve us complimentary lentil soup which was delicious.
However we did note the limited menu options and very few Iraqi specialized options. They also add a 3% charge for credit card use but they are upfront about it. Nevertheless, we are definitely going here again. I highly recommend this place.
Update 2026: went here after almost a year. Sake great quality food.

Ambience is lovely, place is clean & Food is OK. HOWEVER, the service girls need a lot of training. The Egyptian girl did not check on us after dropping the food then left us hanging when done eating waiting for the receipt until we had to ask for it coz she was busy chatting and snacking inside (we were the only customers at the moment) , she dropped it and it was all (greased up) and then we waited and waited a while for someone to come to take our payment but no one came despite me waving until I went and asked. The other server, a Pakistani girl took it, I asked for the copy and then kept waiting as well, nothing, until I got up to see for my self as we wanna leave only to see her taking the white lady’s order who has just walked in! We started to walk towards the door, no apology and no acknowledgment either!
I’m only leaving this review so hopefully the owner would let the girls know for their own professional sake for the future.

The staff were very kind and helpful. The hijabi girl taking the orders was especially friendly she helped us choose what to order and gave great recommendations. She made the whole experience much easier. The chef working on the line did an excellent job, and the food turned out really delicious.

I found the restaurant after it was featured in the local Chicago News. I have not had Iraqi food in Chicago before and the hostess was so patient in taking her time to make sure we were comfortable and excited about what we ordered. The customer service was GREAT and the menu is VERY modestly priced. People often say, “you won’t eat Italian food in America after you go to Italy.” Well, I recently took a vacation to Istanbul, Turkey and I have not enjoyed the kind of quality food I found while in the Middle East until now. Spice & Fire Grill rises to the occasion. The cuisine tastes like it is sourced only with fresh ingredients and professionally cooked and prepared by people who know the exact tradition and craft required for the dish. 10/10 across the board. Bravo!

We went for dinner on a weekday. The people who work there are so friendly and their hospitality is great. They have complimentary lentil soup at the beginning and it is so good. We ordered 3 meals. The portion of the meals was good more on the big side. The food taste is great. The prices are reasonable for the quality they serve. They also have the tea table for free you can get as much as you want tea. I highly recommend this place and will visit again.
