The quantity was extremely small , food was literally cold. it felt like a kids’ portion, especially for the price. You can clearly judge both the quantity and quality just by looking at the serving.
For a first-time customer, this was not what I expected. Never recommend place .
The naan was basically plain, not cut into pieces, and poorly prepared overall. Very disappointing experience. I would recommend ordering from another restaurant.
We were warmly welcomed and graciously attended to by Suman, our hostess for the evening. Her service was exemplary — marked by kindness, attentiveness, and a helpful demeanor that enhanced the overall hospitality. She ensured our needs were met with efficiency and a genuine smile, elevating the tone of the evening.
We began our meal with a selection of appetisers, which arrived promptly and proved to be quite impressive in flavour and presentation. Unfortunately, the accompanying mint chutney lacked the zest and freshness typically expected, falling short of complementing the otherwise delightful starters.
For the main course, we ordered three distinct dishes, which, while not extraordinary, were competently prepared and satisfying. The real stars of the evening, however, were the assortment of Indian breads — the Laacha Paratha, Mozzarella Naan, and Tandoori Roti — each crafted with care and offering the perfect balance of texture and taste. These were a resounding success at the table.
We concluded our meal with two traditional desserts, one of which — the Kheer (Rice Pudding) — was particularly noteworthy. Creamy, delicately spiced, and subtly sweet, it was a comforting and authentic end to the meal. The Chai, however, was merely serviceable and lacked the robust infusion of spices one typically anticipates in a traditional Indian tea.
In sum, Spice Circle offers a pleasant and well-rounded dining experience. While there were minor missteps, the strengths — particularly in service, breads, and dessert — far outweighed the shortcomings. We would certainly recommend this establishment to those seeking a quiet, family-friendly venue for a taste of Indian cuisine in Winnipeg.
Maybe I will try again another day.
The food was outstanding, easily surpassing other Indian restaurants I’ve tried. While the prices were comparable, the quality of the food was exceptional. What stood out even more was the attentive service the staff frequently checked in to ensure everything was to our liking. Their dedication to customer satisfaction was evident and deeply appreciated.
Reena, in particular, left a lasting impression with her kindness and professionalism. I truly wish her and the entire team continued success. Thank you for such a great experience, and may your hard work always be rewarded. God bless you, Reena!
The food was excellent, as was the customer service!
We ordered for 50 people. We had:
Lamb Vindaloo
Lamb Masala
Butter Chicken
Chicken Curry
Chickpea Curry
Aloo Gobi
Palak Paneer
Samosas
Naan
Rice
The Lamb Masala, Aloo Gobi, and Butter Chicken were the fan favourites.
They delivered everything, free of charge, and included complimentary dessert.
Highly recommend!
The chicken chili was excessively salty, better and overly sour. The butter chicken was very watery and lacked proper flavor. Most concerning was the shish kebab, which appeared stale and had a strong unpleasant smell. I did not feel safe eating it and had to discard most of the order.
As a paying customer, I expect food to meet basic quality and safety standards. It is unacceptable to receive food that raises hygiene concerns, especially for such a significant amount.
Food quality and customer safety should always be a priority. Based on this experience, I will not be ordering again and cannot recommend this restaurant.
Would really like to give it if possible.
Ordered a vegetarian thali. They literally gave dal/sabjis in containers smaller than an ice cream cups that children get – probably 5 spoons in each lol.
Asked them no rice – they said it’s fine on the phone but still added.
Salad – completely loaded with lettuce with 3 French fries sized cucumber slices and a few carrot slices.
Lastly, not well managed either. Took 10 minutes for cashier to come to front desk. Then, I ordered two samosas too. Took them 15 minutes. What they did after 15 minutes is – they picked them up and packed while they were already ready. Also the reminder was passed by cashier otherwise they didn’t even pay attention.
For taste, only one serving was 3/5 rest all would be in negative.
Wasted my time there. Also, expensive than all restaurants in Winnipeg and lowest in taste.
Restaurant – I don’t need any empathy nor I want to see – call us here. I’m good thanks for the food anyways.
