I dined here for a friends birthday dinner and overall enjoyed my experience. We were a large party but the staff here did extremely well with serving us. They greeted us politely and sat us down as soon as we walked in. I loved the atmosphere and music they played in the background as well! Some really good 90s-early 2000s R&B! The food was really good as well. The portion sizes they give are huge for the prices they charge. I had the dry pepper wings, miso soup, and shrimp. Everything was seasoned well and fulfilling. The only complaint I would have are some of the non alcoholic drinks. The lemonade was entirely too sweet as well as the mango citrus drink. Other than that, everything was good and I’d recommend dining here!

I grabbed lunch here and the deals were awesome! The portions are large and the food is fresh, so you could definitely split a plate. From the street, it looks pretty plain, but once you’re inside, it has a cool, hip bar atmosphere.

They do charge a 3% surcharge for credit cards so bring cash if you want to avoid this.

Great restaurant. Family owned restaurant. Be patient because it is the family who greets, prepares food and seats everyone. Great energy, delicious food. I had Chicken Lettuce wraps, pork dumping with chili oil and shrimp fried rice. Highly recommend. I look forward to visiting this restaurant when I return to Philly. Enjoy!

We love Spice 28. My girlfriends and I have tried other restaurants for happy hour, and none of them are as good as here. The food is great, drinks are strong, and the servers are always friendly. Definitely recommend.

I came here with some friends and we just had some drinks for happy hour and the customer service was minimal. I ordered a mojito and it had a hair in it, and when I was telling my server about it he completely just cut me off, ultimately rude behavior and body language. Tried to charge me extra on top of it all.

My wife and I went to here during lunch time I really enjoyed my dish which was general tsos chicken very flavorful and the portion was nice. The order didn’t take a a long time to make which is a positive if someone is on their lunch break from work. Also atmosphere was nice for to have lunch and also dinner if you go during that time. My wife had the drunkin noodles which she liked.

Good food. There was only one server for the entire restaurant so the wait was a bit long. The food was good. Drinks were also good. Would visit again.

Been ordering from here for past 10 years and it has never disappointed. The Dan Dan noodles are legend. The dry pepper anything is to die for. One of my fave meals in all of Philly. You go here for the FOOD. Go birds.

We LOVE their tofu. They treat tofu like an ingredient not a consolation prize which makes SUCH a difference. We get the same thing every time we order: Indian pancake (yum – it’s weird, the dipping sauce tastes like a sauce we get at Penang which is a Malaysian restaurant), general tsos tofu (it is different here: the tofu is meaty, the sauce is hot and sour and SO flavorful), and drunken noodles with tofu (the noodles are meh but get extra vegetables and add tofu. The tofu is done differently than the general tsos tofu and also delicious). I have eaten in (it’s a bit loud near the bar but reasonably nice) but I usually get take out. When I ate in I got a mocktail that was lovely. Don’t order it (or anything else sweet) if you’re getting the general tsos – the general tsos is very sweet.

It’s not farm to table. It’s not particularly innovative. It’s just very well done classics which makes it good enough to be a staple in our family.
