The French onion soup was absolutely delicious, rich, savory, and comforting. The sides were just as impressive, and dessert was the perfect ending to the meal.
The only small note was the bacon wasn’t as crispy as I prefer, but honestly, that didn’t take away from how outstanding everything else was.
The atmosphere is classic and upscale with a warm, old-school steakhouse charm that makes the whole experience feel special. I would definitely be back if/ when in Tennessee again!
The food was absolutely delicious, and our waiter took the time to explain the menu and make great recommendations. When it was time for dessert, another waiter came over to take a picture, and just as the dessert arrived—with a candle—they surprised us with a printed photo in a card that said “Happy Birthday.” I thought that was such a thoughtful and special touch that really made my husband feel celebrated.
Thank you to Sperry’s for the wonderful attention to detail, the delicious food, and the outstanding service. It was a memorable experience, and we’ll definitely be back!
My kettle one half brine/half vermouth martini with blue cheese olives was fantastic. Unfortunately, the bar did not have the ingredients to make an Aviation due to a lack of crème de violette but it’s also a very seldomly used ingredient so no points deduction for that! It’s a steak house not a cocktail bar!
Salad bar was basic but did the trick. It had all the necessities like peppers, carrots, onions, chickpeas, bacon, sunflower seeds and an assortment of dressings. Complimentary bread is the consistency of a Jimmy John’s loaf which is not a criticism! It gets the job done.
Multiple cocktails, an appetizer, two salad bars and a split entree cost us about $150 before tax and tip.
Overall, definitely worth it for a Franklin night out. It seems to be loud in all the dining areas until about 8 pm so if you prefer quiet I’d encourage a before 6 pm or after 8 pm dine time.
Definitely make a reservation! And get your steak blackened!
The spicy margarita martini was easily one of the best I’ve had. We started with the fried clams, perfectly crunchy outside and tender inside. The Caesar salad was fresh and flavorful, and the portions were generous. My husband’s lobster tail was cooked perfectly, and while my steak was a bit firm (likely because I ordered it well done), the overall meal was excellent.
Service was attentive without being intrusive, especially impressive on such a busy evening. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a warm atmosphere and classic European charm that makes the experience feel special.
A great spot for a memorable dinner — we’ll definitely be back.
The salad bar is fun – I think it’s hard to differentiate a salad bar but they manage it with their various dressings and seemingly high quality ingredients. We both got a big plate and enjoyed our picks.
For our entrees one of us got the New York strip with an added lobster tail and the other got steak frites. The strip was cooked to our desired doneness but the other steak was very far off – they resolved this effectively though. Once resolved, both steaks were delicious – high quality pieces of meat that were very well seasoned.
The lobster tail was presented nicely and was perfectly buttered and seasoned – also easy to eat with the way it is served mostly detached from the shell.
The fries and mashed potatoes were both very good. Nice shoestring fries just like they should be as a part of steak frites, and the mashed potatoes were as smooth and buttery as you’d hope.
For the birthday they gave us a free dessert – we chose the sticky toffy pudding. It was awesome! We’ve had it before from Gordan Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen where it’s supposed to be his signature dessert, but it pales in comparison to Sperry’s version.
Service was great from start to finish with everyone who was involved. Since it was a birthday they even took our picture and printed out a picture for us.
We will definitely be back!
