Great locally owned and operated family style restaurant. I have dined at the southwest and northeast location for breakfast and lunch.
I recently dropped into the Northeast Spencer’s, as I was out doing errands in East Bakersfield.
While there was a moderate breakfast crowd , I didn’t have to wait long.
The pleasant and efficient wait staff seated me at a clean and quiet booth.
I opted for a favorite breakfast item of mine,
The LumberJack Special… two generous golden brown fluffy pancakes, scrambled eggs, golden brown hash browns, sausage links, bacon and ham…Enough for two people
The service was excellent . Highly recommend the Lumberjack Special for a hearty appetite.

This is easily the tastiest breakfast in Bakersfield. Everything tastes fresh and cooked with care and pride. No stale, out of a bag, freezer burn taste.
The spicy chicken fried steak with country potatoes and biscuits and gravy should be a staple in this town.
Up there with Dewars for out of town visitors.

The food was pretty good and our waitress was VERY FRIENDLY. But overall the place felt very sterile and dull. While waiting for our turn, some people would just walk in and seat themselves with our checking in, and others had to be added to the wait list. The employees were kind, but it just left like everybody hated being there. It just felt like whoever was working got called in on their day off. Haha
The food was warm and okay, but for me I probably wouldn’t recommend or go back.

Loved my visit to Spencer’s Cafe! The atmosphere was so nice and welcoming. I had some tasty pancakes and my husband had some tasty french toast, both were so delicious and fluffy. It was my birthday the day I came in a Spencer’s was the perfect place to have it. Will be back for sure!

The food here was good and the place is clean. What really stood out to me is the service. My waitress was Tryna and she was fast, efficient, and paid attention to detail. It turned breakfast into a dining experience! I will definitely come again and ask for Tryna when I do.

The service was great the place is clean and nice the food was good but just plan no wow factor or flavorful biscuit and gravy was ok I think they changed it used to be outstanding but now was average price was ok reasonable overall just average place silverware was dirty had to change it but it happens sometimes

Ordered some “huevos Rancheros” and they were a complete abomination. It was a soggy flour tortilla drowning in nickle flavored canned beans, sprinkled with that cheap “Mexican cheese blend” from a bag with two sad looking eggs and a spoon of clearly not fresh avocado (thing looked more brown than green).
This was far from authentic and tacobell could’ve done a way better rendition, also if I remember correctly I payed approximately 19 dollars wich is a high price to pay for such a cheap gastronomic experience. Only good thing I have to say was that the waitress was really polite and kept bringing me coffee to help me wash down that horrible taste from that so called dish.

Great food is served here. Spencer’s is definitely on the top ten list in Bakersfield to eat breakfast at.
Having three restaurants in Bakersfield all serving great food is a feat, hats off to the owner’s and management.
I ordered the French toast combo. It comes with 2 eggs, choice of bacon or sausage. It was good and so was the coffee.
They also have a large patio for dinning.

The staff was personable and motivated to please, and Sarah was a delight. The eggs over easy and hash browns needed a bit longer in the pan, as the egg whites were runny, and the potatoes a bit crunchy in the raw way. But both were definitely edible and seasoned well. The pancakes and biscuit & gravy were GREAT. We will return!
