I don’t eat out often, but I wanted to get a late breakfast. I live near this Spencer’s. There was a 20-minute wait at 10:30 on a Saturday, but it went fast. My biggest problem was the waitress wasn’t mindful of us. First, I’m obviously a senior, but when I ordered off the senior menu, I got the full plate, I couldn’t eat it all, and I paid for a regular portion. I told the waitress. She shrugged and said, “I’m sorry, I guess I should’ve asked.” I let it slide. Also, I asked for fruit instead of potatoes, and we had a little discussion about what fruit was available. But, she forgot, and by the time we saw her, she was bringing the check.

Four out of the 5 of us liked our breakfast.. The ribeye breakfast was too dry. The waitress saw that my dad barely ate his breakfast and offered to remove the meal from the tab. Our waitress was great!

The food was okay. Service was okay. I didn’t like the industrial feel to the atmosphere. It seemed like the pictures were like the old west but all the black paint felt more like a converted warehouse. Not very friendly or inviting.

The staff was personable and motivated to please, and Sarah was a delight. The eggs over easy and hash browns needed a bit longer in the pan, as the egg whites were runny, and the potatoes a bit crunchy in the raw way. But both were definitely edible and seasoned well. The pancakes and biscuit & gravy were GREAT. We will return!

I went to Spencer’s Cafe for the first time today. I ordered a Santa Fe Salad for takeout. I was very disappointed in the salad. It was a basic chicken, tomato, cheese and lettuce salad. It did not have the tortilla strips, red onion and green onion has described on the menu. I asked for guacamole and sour cream which are options to add and I received neither. ☹️
