Service was spot on — friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It felt like everything we needed just magically appeared at the right time.
The drinks were phenomenal! The seasonal spiced pear martini was delicious and potent, and the maple old fashioned had that perfect sweet burn that convinced my husband to order another.
The food was outstanding. My Chilean sea bass was seared perfectly — moist, flavorful, and paired beautifully with creamy risotto and shrimp. The special that night was a pork chop with seared tuna (I know, sounds unusual!) but it worked — the pork was tender and the tuna was seared to perfection.
We couldn’t resist dessert and were so glad we didn’t — the carrot cake and apple dumpling were both incredible.
All around, a perfect fall-themed dinner. 10/10 — we’ll definitely be back!
Also, try the 20 year old port… fantastic.
When we started looking for the perfect spot to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary, we wanted more than just a great meal—we wanted an experience we’d remember long after the evening was over. We found exactly that at Spears Steakhouse!
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel celebrated. Thanks to the special note we left on our reservation, we were seated in a cozy corner booth beautifully decorated with fresh roses in a vase, tabletop rose petals, and even a thoughtful anniversary card. It was such a personal touch and set the tone for an amazing evening.
Our server, Marjorie, was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. She congratulated us, helped guide us through the menu, and shared her favorite recommendations. Her attention to the all the details made the night feel effortless & special for us.
We started with cocktails—a crisp Mojito for the Mrs., and a perfectly balanced Speer’s Old Fashioned made with Old Forester bourbon with a couple of cherries for myself, before diving into a dozen East Coast Raw Oysters. They were fresh, briny, and delicious, especially paired with the house-made red chimichurri sauce (our new favorite!). A basket of warm bread with a plate of seasoned olive oil for dipping, rounded out the start of our meal.
For dinner, my wife chose the Chilean Sea Bass special with jasmine rice and broccolini. *She also added two Jumbo Shrimp. She enjoyed every bite, and I can attest that her meal was excellent too. I went with the 28-Day, Dry Aged, Prime Ribeye, cooked medium-rare to perfection. It was tender, flavorful, well seasoned, and even the charcoal charred edge fat was too good to leave behind.
We added two sides—creamed spinach and rosemary fries. The Rosemary French Fries deserve a special mention: hot, crispy, seasoned just right, and honestly some of the best we’ve ever had. They were so good we didn’t leave a single one behind! For most restaurants the French Fries are an afterthought, but Speer’s were one of the stars of our meal.
Dessert was the sweetest ending to a perfect night. My wife enjoyed a warm apple cake with vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle, while I had a rich chocolate mousse topped with a fresh raspberry. Both were wonderful, and to our delight, the mousse was compliments of the restaurant in honor of our anniversary. The cappuccino that arrived with a dessert, was served with “41 ♥” drawn into the foam—such a thoughtful detail from the GM herself.
The only small note of the evening was the creamed spinach being a touch salty, but it was still tasty and enjoyed. Everything else exceeded our expectations.
What truly stood out was the hospitality. Marjorie was attentive and excellent, and the GM, Lexi personally stopped by to check in and wish us yet again a happy anniversary wish. Her genuine care and pride in the restaurant and her staff definitely shined through during our conversation with her
Thank you, Spears Steakhouse, for making our 41st anniversary so memorable. We left with full hearts, full stomachs, and a goal to return again soon. If you’re looking for a locally owned restaurant that delivers not only outstanding food and ambience, but also thoughtful, personal service, Spears Steakhouse is the place to go.
