Speedy’s Pizza and Pub is back! Visit us at 1070 Skyland Drive where the original Bella Roma Italian restaurant was once located. This is the second location for the owners Craig & Natalie Szymanski with the first being The Rivers and Rails Tavern in Dillsboro, NC. Our goal is to serve this beautiful mountain community great food, a full bar and live music! Thus far, our recipe for success has been to keep it simple and keep it fresh with great service and some of the most wonderful staff in WNC. Come check us out!

We missed the “old” Speedy’s restaurant which was a local icon. This isn’t quite the same. The dining room isn’t inviting, but our waitress Maddy was sweet & attentive. The bathroom was clean, but the dining table side (not the bar-side) is very stark & COLD.
We ordered Lasagna & a white pizza calzone. The food took a good while, but it looked great once we got it. BUT both were cold in the center. We sent them back for a warm-up. This happened on our last (& only other) visit, too. Both tasted good & the portions were generous. All in all, and okay visit.
(And please offer a menu with lunch specials like there used to be! I miss the small individual pizza & drink for $10)

Stopped in at The Junction Pub after the lunch rush, arrived at 1:15. We ordered our drinks and our meal. We gave up on the meal at 2. The waitress was apologetic for the delay, it wasn’t her fault, not sure what was going on in the kitchen, but many customers were upset about the slow meal preparation.
Update!!! Now known as Speedy’s Pizza and Pub. Things are 100% better. The food, pizza, was delicious and hot. We had the daily special, two slices of pizza and a drink for $10. The manager took care of us and we were very happy with everything.

Food was amazing!!! First time eating here and it will not be my last! I’m sad that I live 4 hours and 40 minutes away but next time I’m at WCU, I will definitely be eating here again!! (My daughter starts there in August so it will be soon!!). This honestly was some of the best food I have eaten out at a restaurant in a very long time!

The pizza’s not amazing but it’s not horrible. I say it’s right in the middle. Give it a 5.8 the fried ravioli actually really good. Prices are a tad bit on the high end but really nothing to complain about. The bar side of the restaurant. Out of this world! The world shut down for the snow storm but the junction pub kept on going! I loved the dry rub wings garlic lemon pepper and would’ve loved the pineapple jalapeno had there been more sauce. The truffle fries were all I could’ve hoped for and homemade ranch with a hint of dill in them was fantastic. Great selection of local brewery beers and wide array of TV’s and sports selection

Speedy’s… Name does not match the service. “Slowies” fits much better with our experience. We order half and half 16″ pizza. Recieved 3/4 to 1/4 warm barely. 1 1/2 hours wait time. Bring our pizza no plates no napkins. Ask waitress for them. 10 minutes go by. I get up to ask in a nice way for them again. 6or 7 minutes later waitress bring a one 16″ pizza pan and 2 10″ pizza pans to eat from. Ask waitress to bring another 10″ pan instead of 16″. Limited table space. I was told all our dishes are dirty and this all we have. I ask if I could with the manager. Waitress reply sure. Manager finally shows up and asks what was the problem. I explained the situation and told how our food got cold. I mentioned the for got cold and their an extreme amount of goat cheese on pizza. She agreed. I told her I wasn’t angry at her. She replied seems like you are. I told her it’s not you it the situation your staff has put my dinning experience with my family. She said she take half off the bill. Liar. Go to pay bill. 39.00 reduced to 32.00 If my math is correct I would say math skills are weak even with automated cash register. Do not recommend this eating establishment. My first and last time. No apologies needed.

Food was decent but the reason they got 1 stars is because we ordered all the food at once. People sat around us 15 mins later. They got served before the employees noticed… 1 kid served at a time which caused them to be fussy… hour and a half later the servers realized. Said they would comp us. Only got 9 dollars off a 125$ bill. Still tipped . Tho its not the waiters fault but yeah not going back. When it was JCT I had a way better experience mutiple.times and even when they was busy

Nice salads Greek salad is loaded with feda cheese (could use 1/2 the amount)
Chocolate moose pie was very good also.
But we got seated, quickly, order taken quickly, and food came out quickly.

Great beer, food and staff! Recommend trying it out. The sides do have to be ordered separately though, which price wasn’t worth it for the Mac n cheese (super small portion).
