Speedy Lohr’s in Lexington….Not to be confused with the other, more famous, Speedy’s that gave up on cooking the traditional way years ago. I usually get a chopped plate my first time at a new barbecue restaurant, and this place is legit. Meat was super tender, with a strong but not overpowering taste of smoke. The dip/sauce was nicely balanced between tangy, spicy, and sweet as well. The slaw was very reminiscent of the Barbecue Center’s or Real Q’s. Fries were fries. The hushpuppies are smaller, sweet, and had a hint of onion. Very good. Overall, one of the best places I’ve tried in Lexington. More people need to come here.

This is an Amazing place to eat. Spectacular service, absolutely delicious food and to top it all off you can read Bible verses on the menu and on the signs out front. Good coarse chopped BBQ. Tons of hush puppies. Slaw not quite as good as Stameys. Dip not as good as Country BBQ. BBQ beans ok, not dynamite. Sweet tea is good. No room for dessert. Service very good and friendly. A satisfying meal for me.

First time in this town and was going to try this place. Called to place an order for the chopped BBQ special, which comes with hush puppies, slaw, and “dip” asked if I could substitute the slaw and the lady just said “no ma’am” (sounded smart) before I could even say anything back she said “is that all” lol really nice service. Didn’t even give me a chance to decide something else. Snappy and rude. I was going to change the order to plates but after she acted like that I just felt like it wasn’t a good place. Weird behavior
