I visited the soft opening for The Black Smock today and loved every single item I ordered.
Mushroom quiche – out of this world. Fluffy, and moist with a buttery crust.
Club sandwhich and side salad – so much flavor. The bread was like nothing I have ever had before and I was told it was handmade. The sauce and dressing on the salad complimented each other so well and the fresh fruit on the side was refreshing!
To finish it off, I had the Georgia Peach iced tea which I was told is sourced by then from someone local in Mineral Point, WI. It was super refreshing – not too sweet, not too tart.
100% will be making my way back ASAP.

One of a kind cocktails, popular craft brews, and an extensive whiskey list will keep your taste buds occupied for as long as your stay. The owners are truly passionate about the quality of their service and goods.
They have plenty of hand crafted stools at the bar, some tables for more intimate seating arrangements, lovely refurbished couches for a relaxed vibe, and a good amount of outdoor seating as well. Year round, this bar has a seat for you and a drink recommendation that will have you coming back for sure!

This is a hidden gem. Went there tonight with my husband. It’s amazing. The two young bartenders were amazing. Suggested drinks, talked with us, gave us some background on the establishment and were genuinely nice. They could have served us and then went and played on their phones like most do. We are definitely going back. It is a must stop when in Platteville WI. Thank you!

It’s a steampunk speakeasy! Very cool decor and great bartenders. Kind of pricey but you don’t go there with a drunk in mind. A great place to have one of their specialty drinks and visit with friends! They have appys and a great looking flat bread. We will be back with some friends to hang out and laugh!

So excited to have found this speakeasy! Quality crafted drinks with an awesome menu and fun charcuterie and food options. The intimate space with a classy steampunk vibe is a super fun place for socializing. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly which makes for an all around great experience. In a town with many bar options, this one is a must for a unique experience.

Oh my gosh, what a RAD (yes, I said what I said) place!! We’re from Milwaukee and don’t think we even have a place this cool around us. Definitely a stand out from the more townie type bars in Platteville (nothing against them, just saying this place is way different). Drinks are unique and spectacular. High five to whomever created and banned them. Seriously, stop here if you’re in Platteville. You won’t regret it.

An absolute gem of a bar with a steampunk feel to it , the drinks are absolutely awesome , the staff is downright 2nd to none , this is the type of place you would find in an alley of San Francisco or NYC but it’s in Platteville! The absolute best bar !
