I really wanted to like Spawn Inn, but this was a huge letdown. The service was bad, the place was dirty and run-down, and overall it just felt neglected. As a gaming spot, not having WiFi is wild — especially when that’s kind of the whole point.
My group came in excited and left feeling like we completely wasted our night. The environment wasn’t welcoming at all, and it honestly felt uncomfortable being there. This place has potential, but in its current state it was an absolutely terrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend it. I will say a positive… the pricing was good. Other than that, there’s a lot of work to be done

Niche gamer themed bar down town. There are video games at the bar and board games on the shelves. Large table in the back seats 10 with room to play board games or TTRPG. Specialty drinks include alcoholic milkshakes, signature cocktails and D20 shots.

Though my experience here was somewhat limited as I didn’t spend much time here I am happy to say that the environment was very welcoming and friendly. I ordered a milkshake which was phenomenal (who doesn’t love a good milkshake?!). While ordering Jeremy was friendly, knowledgeable and outgoing. If you are interested in gaming of all kinds I would recommend that you visit this place. I will be looking forward to returning again soon!

Where I can see what they were aiming for here, I feel that it falls short of the mark. It’s not lively enough to feel like a bar, but it’s not chill enough to be comfortable either. They have a decent selection of games you can amuse yourself with, but still none of them sounded all that entertaining considering the surroundings. The biggest win is the decor. They have several pieces of art, as well as posters, that definitely pull at my nostalgia and love of gaming. I think this place could be massively improved upon, and be a lot more fun. As it stands right now, it reminds me of my school days when we’d go hang out with whoever had the coolest basement with the most games.
Now onto the service… I’m really quite displeased. I was greeted and treated friendly. I hadn’t intended to drink, and approached the bar, where I got the “intro” to the place, as it was my first time. I was told about the d20 shots and had a pair of dice thrust into my hand. With no mention of cost I was told to roll to see what shots I’d get. I thought to myself “This is a pretty cool way to greet new customers” so I played along and ended up with my 2 drinks, neither of which I enjoyed. Then, to be a good patron, I ordered a mixed drink, purely because I believed the business had just given me 2 free drinks, and I wanted to support them. But, as I go to pay for my mixer, he says “Just the mixed drink and the 2 shots” So, begrudgingly I pay $25+5 tip for 3 drinks that I didn’t actually even want.

Top 3 places to visit in Topeka, hands down. Staff is kind hearted, accommodating, and the atmosphere is pure fun and not to mention, judgement free! They made my little sister’s birthday special, and went above and beyond to nurture a welcome environment. Great, adorably presented drinks, insanely courteous and sweet people running that joint. Will return every chance I get. So glad Topeka has this.

It’s a bar, but with nerdy shit, really cool nerdy shit. Seriously a nice atmosphere to get lit in. Simultaneously a bar and game room but still a touch homey with good service. Not to mention an interesting drink selection premise for the indecisive. Stop in and buy some drinks folks that we might keep it around. It’s actually open late, on Kansas, and doesn’t suck, plus all the cool stuff.
